What we're looking for

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer with extensive experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, along with expert-level SQL and data modeling skills. Strong communication abilities and a good eye for UX design are also critical to the role. The candidate will work closely with our data team to deliver business intelligence solutions that provide actionable insights for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and ensure business needs are met.

• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and usability within Power BI.

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

• Build and maintain calculations using DAX and Power Query.

• Ensure a seamless user experience through intuitive, visually appealing report design.

• Apply UX best practices to improve report usability and adoption.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Power BI reports, datasets, and data sources.

• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery reviews.

• Contribute to documentation, standards, and reusable BI patterns.

• Support production issues and ongoing enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Power BI report and dashboard development.

• Expert‑level SQL skills.

• Strong understanding of Power Query and DAX for data transformation and modeling.

• Strong data modeling experience, including star and snowflake schema design.

• Ability to design optimized semantic models for Power BI.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

• A strong sense for UX and visual design, ensuring an intuitive user experience.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

• Experience working in Agile or backlog‑driven delivery environments.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university.

• Hands-on experience working with Microsoft data and analytics tools including: SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Databricks, Microsoft Fabric

• Experience working with Azure cloud services such as Azure Functions.

• Experience developing data solutions using Apache Spark and/or Python.

• Prior experience with SAP is a major plus but not strictly required.
