About the role


The Inventory Control Specialist supports accurate physical inventory and reliable ERP records through counting, validation, transaction research, and reconciliation. Working under the Inventory Control Lead, this role independently investigates inventory and allocation discrepancies, completes authorized inventory transactions, and coordinates resolution with warehouse, order processing, receiving, and production personnel. The position combines hands-on warehouse work with advanced system investigation, including discrepancies across warehouse locations, SKUs, and connected sales platforms.


What you'll do

  • Performs cycle counts, physical counts, recounts, and stock validations against PI cycles established by the Inventory Control Lead. Documents results and investigates variances.
  • Reviews stock requests by comparing physical quantities, ERP balances, and order allocations. Communicates findings and escalates unresolved exceptions.
  • Investigates inventory discrepancies, negative balances, and allocation issues by reviewing receipts, transfers, issues, adjustments, and transaction history.
  • Completes authorized inventory adjustments, issues, and transfers within assigned ERP permissions and approval procedures. Maintains supporting documentation.
  • Reconciles inventory movements between warehouses and coordinates resolution of transfer and allocation discrepancies.
  • Reviews SKU, label, and location information for inconsistencies and coordinates approved corrections with the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborates with warehouse and Order Processing teams to resolve inventory-related fulfillment issues within assigned authority.
  • Creates and affixes labels, organizes stock, and performs putaway and replenishment while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Identifies and documents damaged inventory and researches its impact on stock availability and allocations.
  • Supports returns, inventory relocations, and cleanup projects by validating items, quantities, condition, and locations.
  • Tracks open inventory issues through resolution and recommends improvements to address recurring problems.
  • Adheres to warehouse safety requirements and complies with company policies and inventory control procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Complies with all company standards as outlined in the employee handbook.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role involving inventory reconciliation and ERP transaction processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently research inventory discrepancies and trace receipts, transfers, issues, adjustments, and order allocations through an ERP system.
  • Experience completing inventory transactions with appropriate documentation and approvals. Acumatica experience preferred; comparable ERP experience accepted.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and comparing inventory data.
  • Experience with physical counts, SKU verification, stock organization, and warehouse inventory movements.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate findings clearly across departments.
  • Ability to balance scheduled inventory work with urgent discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Experience with inventory across multiple warehouse locations or connected e-commerce platforms preferred.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time on-site position. The hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or as needed, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required to accomplish goals when necessary.
