Bravo Ordnance Careers

Technical Buyer

About the role

The Technical Buyer will manage the complete procurement lifecycle for the technical components and materials essential to Bravo Ordnance's defense applications — spanning electronics, mechanical hardware, energetics-adjacent materials, and specialty mil-spec parts. This role requires the technical fluency to read specifications and datasheets, strong supplier relationships across the defense industrial base, and the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements including ITAR, EAR, and military qualification standards. You will balance cost optimization with quality assurance while maintaining strategic partnerships with vetted suppliers and managing inventory levels to support fast-moving production schedules.

What success looks like in this role

  • By day 30: You've mapped the active BOMs, supplier base, and lead-time risks across your assigned technical categories.
  • By day 60: You've qualified alternate and second sources and are placing and expediting purchase orders reliably against production schedules.
  • By day 90: You deliver a resilient sourcing plan with documented compliance and measurable cost or lead-time improvements.

What you'll do

  • Source, qualify, and negotiate contracts with suppliers of technical components and materials — authorized distributors, manufacturers, and specialty providers — ensuring compliance with military specifications and security-clearance requirements
  • Develop and maintain detailed component and material specifications, conduct technical evaluations of options, and prepare comparative analysis documents for engineering and program managers
  • Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply-chain disruptions across technical categories; proactively identify alternative suppliers and mitigation strategies to prevent production delays
  • Execute purchase orders, track shipments, manage receiving and inspection, and resolve quality issues or discrepancies with suppliers through root-cause analysis and corrective-action requests
  • Maintain current knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and defense-contractor compliance regulations; ensure all procurement activities meet federal requirements and document compliance for audits and certifications

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of professional buying or procurement experience with a demonstrated focus on technical components, materials, or electromechanical/electronic parts
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to read datasheets and engineering specifications and communicate effectively with engineering teams
  • Proven negotiation skills with demonstrated success managing supplier relationships and achieving cost reductions while maintaining quality standards
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Valid driver's license; U.S. person able to obtain or maintain a Secret security clearance

    Preferred
  • Experience sourcing for high-rate or fast-moving production
  • Familiarity with counterfeit-mitigation and authorized-distribution requirements (e.g., AS6081) and supplier quality
  • Strong understanding of military specifications, mil-spec procurement processes, and defensecontractor compliance including ITAR and EAR
  • CPSM, CPM, or APICS certification

About Bravo Ordnance

Where Unmanned Systems Become Weapons of Tomorrow

Bravo Ordnance is an elite defense engineering company dedicated to redefining the most decisive - and often most underserved - element of modern warfare: the warhead. Headquartered in Cedar Creek, Texas, we bridge the gap between "drones" and "munitions" by designing and manufacturing high-performance, custom warhead systems for the next generation of autonomous platforms.

What We Do

The traditional defense industry moves in years; we move in days. Leveraging industrial-grade additive manufacturing (3D printing), advanced fluid dynamics, and cutting-edge energetics R&D, we have compressed the development cycle from months to under two weeks. Our team takes mission requirements from a "napkin sketch" to a combat-ready, tested system with unparalleled speed.

Our core technologies include:

  • Additive Manufacturing for Munitions: Accelerating the production of complex geometries and custom fragmentation sleeves.
  • Advanced Energetics: Pioneering materials like Gemini, our transport-safe binary explosive with TNT-equivalent performance.
  • Modular Systems Integration: Creating scalable lethality profiles for loitering munitions, UAS, USVs, and underwater platforms.

Why Join Us?

At Bravo Ordnance, you aren’t just a cog in a massive defense conglomerate. You are a builder. Founded by combat veterans and industry experts with backgrounds in the U.S. Navy, Army PSYOP, and nuclear engineering, we operate with "startup speed" and military discipline.

We are backed by top-tier venture capital to build the tools of deterrence that will protect the U.S. and its allies.

Our Culture

  • Mission First: We understand the weight of our work. Our systems are designed to ensure that those who go into harm's way have the most effective tools possible.
  • Rapid Innovation: We value "fail fast, fix faster." Our engineers have the freedom to prototype, test, and iterate in our in-house explosives facilities.
  • Elite Collaboration: You’ll work alongside forensic investigators, explosive chemists, and retired Navy Weapons Officers in an environment where technical excellence meets field-tested practicality.
