About the role

We are looking for a R&D Product Owner to drive the definition and resolution of complex data and analytics challenges in the energy domain.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of domain expertise, data, and advanced analytics, guiding discovery efforts that lead to solutions such as diagnostic models, algorithms, and data products.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the right problems are identified, framed, and solved, and that decisions are made based on evidence.

What you'll do:

• Work with business stakeholders to define high-impact analytical challenges related to the energy sector (e.g. assets monitoring systems, predictive systems)

• Translate domain challenges into structured problem frames

• Ensure analytical questions are clearly scoped and aligned with business priorities

• Ensure analyses, experiments, and models are focused on answering the core question

• Challenge assumptions and avoid premature solutioning

• Define success criteria and evaluation frameworks

• Assess results from analytics, models, and experiments to validate they drive the expected value

• Identify when initial problem framing is not feasible or not delivering value, and reframe it into achievable and valuable analytical questions

• Ensure conclusions are robust, interpretable, and actionable

What you'll need:

• A degree in engineering, physics, math, or related fields.

• Experience working on data-driven insights where problem definition, evaluation, and decision-making were key responsibilities

• Experience in data-driven decision making

• Experience in analytics, modeling, or diagnostics

• Experience in product or technical problem definition that aligns to clear business value

• Strong problem structuring and analytical thinking

• Ability to work with uncertain and incomplete information

• Experience defining metrics and evaluation frameworks to ensure business value and stakeholders alignment

• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to different audiences

• Comfortable working with data teams (no need to code, but technical fluency is expected)

• Ability to make decisions and recommendations under uncertainty

Nice to have:

• Experience in energy, utilities, or industrial assets

• Familiarity with machine learning or statistical modeling

• The value of solutions is measurable and clearly communicated through agreed metrics

• Discovery efforts lead to clear decisions and outcomes
