Data & Systems Administrator

CMP is a global manufacturing company with 6 manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout Canada, the United States, Italy, Australia, and China. CMP supplies the recreational and commercial marine industries with a broad range of products for various industry segments, including anchoring & ground tackle, corrosion, dock & boat accessories, and steering & controls. CMP manufactures and distributes products under the brands, Martyr, Rocna, Vulcan, Titan, Panther, Dock Edge, Octopus, Intellisteer, Sanitation Equipment and, Trollmaster.

We are seeking a Data & Systems Administrator to join the team in our Delta, BC location.


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Data & Systems Administrator is responsible for gathering, developing, entering, maintaining and analyzing product and customer data, including product attributes, customer information and pricing. This role supports the Sales, Customer Service and Marketing departments by ensuring data is accurate, complete, standardized, and readily available for reporting and decision-making. The Data & Systems Administrator will analyze customer sales and pricing data to identify trends, opportunities, and data quality issues that support business strategy and the development of customized strategies for current and prospective customers.  This role requires strong knowledge of data management, business processes, sales and marketing workflows, data analysis, and business systems. The Data & Systems Administrator will also contribute to process improvement, automation, system optimization, and cross-functional projects designed to improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of company data.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Management & Governance

  • Maintains standards for how data elements are defined, structured, utilized and shared throughout the organization, including related SOPs.
  • Manages product, customer, pricing, and sales data within the Product Information Management (PIMCore), Enterprise Resource Planning (Visual), and Customer Relationship Management (Zoho) systems.
  • Ensures data is accurate, complete, consistent, standardized, and maintained according to established business rules.
  • Monitors data quality across Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, products, pricing, and other key data elements.
  • Identifies and communicates data errors or inconsistencies to appropriate users and departments and supports timely resolution.
  • Utilizes internal tools and third-party services to maintain the integrity, usability, and availability of product, customer, and sales data.
  • Ensures data management practices comply with established company policies, procedures, and standards.

Pricing & Product Data

  • Ensures customer pricing information and contracts are accurate, complete, and implemented on time across all applicable systems.
  • Prepares, compiles, and organizes documentation and information required for customer price sheets.
  • Enters and maintains pricing information accurately within applicable databases and systems while adhering to formatting and standardization requirements.
  • Obtains and validates missing or incomplete information required to establish customer pricing.
  • Reviews and scrubs pricing data for errors in formatting, spelling, calculations, and standardization.
  • Prepares price books in Excel and uploads pricing information into the ERP system.
  • Works with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and other departments to investigate and resolve pricing discrepancies and database issues.

Data Analysis, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Uses Excel, Power Query, SQL, and other analytical tools to extract, transform, validate, and analyze business data.
  • Develops and maintains reports, datasets, and analytical tools to support Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, and management decision-making.
  • Analyzes customer, product, sales, and pricing trends and identifies opportunities, anomalies, and data quality issues.
  • Continually identifies opportunities to improve processes, eliminate inefficiencies, reduce manual work, and automate recurring tasks.
  • Develops and maintains automated data processes and workflows where appropriate.
  • Recommends improvements to data structures, processes, systems, and reporting based on identified business needs.

Systems & Project Support

  • Supports system enhancements, testing, implementations, upgrades, and data-related projects.
  • Provides training, documentation, and ongoing support to users as required.
  • Supports and/or coordinates strategic projects designed to improve business performance, data quality, operational efficiency, and system capabilities.
  • Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and system vendors to resolve issues and improve system functionality

  • Ensures the Company’s quality policies and procedures are followed.   

Team building:  

  • Participates in 1X1 meetings with the Controller, Financial Systems and Cost Accounting

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data administration 
  • 2 + years of experience in data management & governance
  • 2 + years of experience in pricing & product data
  • 2 + years of experience in data analysis, reporting & process improvement
  • 2 + years of experience in systems & project support/ coordination, training, documentation & user-support skills 
  • 2 + years of experience in SQL, including the ability to query, filter, join, and analyze data from relational databases
  • 2 + years of experience in ERP and CRM software; Infor Visual (ERP), PIMCore and/or Zoho CRM is an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with Power Query, lookups, formulas, pivot tables, and data validation and strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Experience establishing data standards, definitions, validation rules, documentation, and data governance practices is an asset            
  • Strong understanding of sales, customer service, and marketing processes and workflows
  • Comfortable in developing strong relationships and working with senior level executives  

HOURS:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days of working from home) – there will be a training period of 6 months in the office before transitioning to hybrid
