Datalinx AI

Head of Sales

Company Overview:

Datalinx is an AI Data Refinery that helps enterprises turn complex, fragmented data into trusted data products for activation, measurement, optimization, and AI workflows. Our platform automates the manual work required to onboard, normalize, enrich, validate, and maintain data across sources. As data changes over time, Datalinx proactively identifies and resolves issues before they impact downstream workflows. This helps companies launch new data-driven products and customer use cases faster, with higher-quality data and less ongoing engineering overhead.

Founded by a seasoned team from Amazon, Oracle, Verizon, Intuit, Unity, and multiple successful startups, Datalinx accelerates time-to-value while improving trust and consistency. It gives business leaders faster access to usable data, insights, and audiences, and frees engineering teams from manual data preparation and ad hoc data requests, enabling seamless, data-driven decisions across the enterprise.

About this Role

We're looking for an exceptional enterprise seller to join us as Head of Sales. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role for someone who knows how to cut through the AI noise to open doors, run complex deal cycles, and close deals. You'll be our first dedicated sales hire and will work directly with the CEO to turn pipeline into revenue. Our immediate focus will be closing deals. You'll own the full sales cycle for our target accounts, from first conversation through signed contract and handoff. You’ll be selling an AI product to technical and business stakeholders at brands, publishers, agencies, data seller, and platforms across marketing, advertising, and commerce. As the company scales, there is an opportunity to lead sales and build the team, playbook, and process.

What You'll Own

Pipeline Generation

  • Build and own a qualified pipeline of enterprise accounts across our ideal customer profiles in marketing, advertising, and commerce.
  • Run disciplined, authentic outbound alongside inbound and partner-sourced opportunities.
  • Work with the CEO to prioritize target accounts and sharpen our ideal customer profile as we learn from the market.

Deal Execution

  • Own the full sales cycle from first meeting through discovery, evaluation, negotiation, contract, pilot, and close.
  • Run discovery that gets to real business problems and translate them into a clear, quantified case for Datalinx.
  • Lead multi-threaded deals across technical stakeholders (data, engineering, IT, security) and business stakeholders (marketing, media, commerce, analytics).
  • Partner with Solutions and Product on demos, proofs of concept, and technical validation.
  • Manage pricing, proposals, procurement, security review, and legal through to signature.

Forecasting and Operating Rhythm

  • Maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in our CRM and proactively keep it current.
  • Report on pipeline health, conversion, and deal risk to the CEO and leadership on a weekly cadence.
  • Bring structure to how we sell, including stage definitions, qualification criteria, and deal reviews.

Market Feedback and Partner Motions

  • Serve as the voice of the customer back to Product, sharing what's landing, what's missing, and what's blocking deals.
  • Build relationships with partners and channels that expand our reach into target accounts.
  • As the company grows, lay the foundation for a sales organization, including playbooks, onboarding, and the first hires on your team.

Who You Are

  • 7–20 years of enterprise sales experience with a consistent record of hitting quota and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Early-stage startup experience - you've sold at a company before it had a brand, a playbook, or a mature product, and you know how to create momentum from a standing start
  • AI product experience - you've sold AI, data, or infrastructure products and can explain how they work, what they're good for, and where they aren't a fit
  • Technical fluency - you're comfortable selling to data leaders, engineers, and CTOs, and you can hold your own in a technical evaluation
  • Domain expertise - deep experience in marketing technology, advertising technology, or commerce, and you understand how brands, agencies, and platforms actually buy
  • Closer's instinct - you qualify using known frameworks (challenger sale, MEDDIC), create urgency, and move deals with high velocity
  • Excellent communicator - crisp written and verbal, low drama, high clarity
  • Comfortable with ambiguity - you're energized by early-stage environments where the path isn't always clear
  • AI Enabled - You’re a Turbo Brain, not a Slop Cannon
  • Based in New York City preferred, with the ability to work in-office regularly. Remote is possible for the right candidate

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling data platforms, clean rooms, CDPs, or other customer data infrastructure
  • Existing relationships with brands, agencies, or platforms in marketing, advertising, or commerce
  • Experience selling alongside or through partners such as cloud data platforms, systems integrators, or agencies
  • Prior experience building or leading a sales team
