UX Designer

About us
Different is a marketing system that runs demand generation for B2B companies. It handles campaign creation, personalization, and optimization in one place, so lean teams can do more without adding headcount, agencies or point AI solutions. Customers use Different to launch campaigns faster, reach the right buyers, and continuously improve marketing ROI. Between them, Different’s founders have founded two unicorns, led AI at a global marketing software giant, and built platforms used by millions. They bring deep product, technical, and business experience to one shared goal: reimagining how modern marketing works. We are backed by General Catalyst and Lightspeed.

The role
You'll own the experience of major parts of the product, from research to the shipped screen. You'll design how enterprise marketers work with AI agents that plan, create and optimize campaigns on their behalf and make complex, autonomous systems feel intuitive, trustworthy and easy to control. We are looking for a designer who loves turning ideas into working prototypes, collaborating closely with engineers & PMs and shipping their work to customers with high degree of ownership and care.

What you'll work on

End-to-end UX: research, flows, interaction design, prototypes and final UI for one or more product areas.

Research: work with customers and our customer-facing teams, run interviews and usability tests yourself, and bring what you learn back to the team.

AI behaviour: design loading and streaming states, confidence, errors, editing and undoing what the AI did, and when a person should step in.

Evals: help define evals for open-ended AI output from the user's side: what makes a draft, a suggestion or an agent action good enough to show.

Prototypes: prototype in design tools, AI prototyping tools or code, and help ship your work to production.

Build and design system: work with engineers through build, review what ships against what was designed, and maintain the design system.

What we're looking for

  • 2–5 years designing digital products that shipped and were used by real customers.
  • A portfolio that shows your process: the problem, what you tried, what you learned, and the outcome.
  • Strong interaction design and visual craft, and the judgment to know which one a problem needs.
  • Time on a team known for its bar in experience or quality, and what that taught you.
  • Curiosity about what's changing in AI: you try new AI tools and interaction patterns soon after they come out and form your own view of what they're good for.

Relevant experience may include:

  • Working knowledge of Claude Design, Loveable and/or other AI based designing and prototyping tools
  • Designing B2B tools, including complex workflows, dense data and admin settings.
  • Designs for AI features that shipped, and what you learned from watching people use them.
  • Enough front-end skill to build or adjust a working prototype.

You don't need any marketing or advertising experience, but you'll need to learn the domain quickly, including how marketers think about audiences and campaigns and what happens after a campaign launches.

Why this is interesting
The interaction patterns for AI that drafts, launches and adjusts campaigns are still being worked out, across the industry and here. You'll help decide what marketers approve, what runs on its own, and how the system explains what it did. We would rather ship fewer things done with care, so you'll have room to get the details right.
