The Role

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer with a strong understanding of drive-thru technology and QSR environments to support our Sales team across customer opportunities, solution design and technical proposals.

The role will act as the technical bridge between the customer, Sales and Product teams, translating customer requirements into clear, commercially viable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a practical understanding of drive-thru systems, CCTV, networking, cabling, infrastructure and technical solution design, combined with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Job Responsibilities Include

  • Partner with Sales teams throughout the pre-sales process to understand customer requirements and develop technical solutions
  • Act as the technical SME for drive-thru technology, including loop-based and Video systems, drive-thru timers, computer vision, sensors, audio/headsets
  • Conduct technical discovery and translate customer requirements into appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and review technical diagrams, system architectures, camera layouts, network diagrams and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Assist with RFPs, tenders, proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs) and technical specifications.
  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, demonstrations and technical workshops.
  • Provide technical input into solution pricing, scope and commercial proposals.
  • Understand Vision fundamentals including camera types, positioning, field of view, IP cameras and video infrastructure.
  • Understand basic networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, PoE, switches and structured cabling.
  • Understand basic electrical and low-voltage infrastructure relevant to technology deployments.
  • Ability to interpret site plans and technical drawings and translate them into technology requirements.
  • Work closely with Product and Sales to provide customer feedback and identify opportunities for product and solution development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales, Solutions Engineering or a similar technical customer-facing role.
  • QSR or restaurant technology experience strongly preferred.
  • Practical understanding of drive-thru technology highly desirable.
  • Technical background in electrical, electronics, telecommunications, networking, IT, CCTV/security or systems engineering.
  • Experience creating technical diagrams using tools such as Visio, AutoCAD, Lucidchart, Draw.io or similar.
  • Strong understanding of technology infrastructure and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Relevant technical qualification, trade qualification or equivalent industry experience.
