Political Law Practice Group Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a Political Law Practice Group Coordinator to join our Washington, D.C. office. This is an ideal role for someone early in their political career who thrives on solving problems, bringing order to complexity, and supporting high‑stakes work that advances democratic values.


The PL Practice Group Coordinator plays a central role in keeping the Political Law Practice Group running smoothly, advancing the strategic objectives of our clients, and the mission of our firm. You will work closely with attorneys and operations leadership to help translate priorities into action, manage projects across fast‑moving timelines, and ensure the team has the systems it needs to succeed—especially in the heat of election cycles.


This role reports to the Political Law Practice Group Director. Candidates must submit a resume and a cover letter explaining their interest in both the position and the mission of the firm, and how their skills and experience would make them a strong addition to the team.

Job Classification

  • Non-Exempt
  • Salary range is $31.25 - $38.46 an hour based on qualifications

Essential Job Functions

  • Shape and execute projects that improve day‑to‑day operations across the Political Law Practice Group, helping attorneys work efficiently and advancing strategic priorities
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve internal systems including trackers, templates, workflows, and information‑management tools to bring clarity, organization, and scalability to complex work.
  • Track and manage timelines and deliverables for major practice group initiatives and election‑related deployments
  • Coordinate and support practice group meetings, trainings, events, and communications including by developing agendas, organizing and drafting materials, managing timelines, and ensuring next steps and action items are tracked and completed.
  • Conduct short‑turnaround, non‑legal research
  • Review and proofread internal and external written materials
  • Assist with planning and logistics for the Summer Associate Program
  • Provide administrative support to political law as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a strong academic background
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience on a political campaign, political or non-profit organization, government office, law firm, or public affairs agency is preferred.
  • A strong interest in politics and commitment to Democratic values 
  • Applicants must have excellent organization and prioritization skills and fluency in the various Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Candidates must be adept at prioritizing multiple projects across competing deadlines and have strong attention to detail. 
  • This role requires a heightened ability to maintain positive and productive contact with attorneys and staff members, while observing confidentiality of client and firm matters. 
  • Candidates must be able to work additional hours beyond the normal schedule as required, especially around relevant election dates.
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, work well individually and collaboratively, and demonstrate proactivity and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

  • Position is hybrid and requires presence in a professional office environment (DC). Currently set as Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. 

  • Position requires that the employee be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. 

Physical Demands

  • This position is primarily a sedentary position.  However, some duties and responsibilities may require the employee to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, occasionally move about to access office equipment, file cabinets, etc.

  • May require employee to carry or lift items weighing up to 10 pounds.
