About the Role

exacare ai is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Finance & Accounting Manager to join its growing finance function. Reporting to the Controller, the Finance & Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while helping build scalable processes, accelerate the month-end close, and improve the quality of financial reporting as the company scales.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys ownership, solving problems, and improving how work gets done. The Finance & Accounting Manager will own core accounting operations across billing, AR, AP, reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation, with scope expanding into budgeting and forecasting as the function grows.

What You’ll Do

• Accounting operations: Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Billing: Manage the end-to-end customer billing process, including subscription setup and updates, invoice generation, billing accuracy, customer inquiries, and the resolution of billing discrepancies.
• Accounts receivable and payable: Own the day-to-day AR and AP workflow, ensuring invoices are issued and collected on time and vendor payments are processed accurately, with weekly reporting that escalates collection risks and payment issues.
• Month-end close: Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deliverables, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules, ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
• Financial reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and supporting analysis, along with reports and dashboards that track key SaaS performance indicators.
• Audit readiness: Support the annual audit by preparing schedules, organizing workpapers, and responding to auditor requests.
• Payroll funding: Partner with the People team to ensure payroll is funded accurately and on time.
• Planning and analysis: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning, and provide analysis that informs decision-making across the business.
• Controls and process: Help develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and close processes as the company scales.
• Automation: Identify opportunities to use automation and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and visibility across finance operations.

What You’ll Bring

• CPA designation: A completed CPA designation is required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including public accounting, audit, or assurance.
• Technical foundation: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting.
• Operational breadth: Experience across billing, month-end close, reconciliations, AR, AP, financial statements, and audit preparation.
• Attention to detail: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Independence: Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Communication: A clear and thoughtful communicator who brings openness, transparency, respect, and accountability to their work.
