Junior IT Engineer

Home of the GAA, Croke Park Stadium is Ireland’s foremost sporting and entertainment venue.  Over 1,500,000 visitors are welcomed annually to national and international events and the Croke Park campus also features Croke Park Meetings & Events and GAA Museum & Tours. 



An opportunity now arises for an ambitious Junior IT Engineer to join our highly skilled IT Team, to assist with the support and maintenance of the technology infrastructure within the GAA and Croke Park Stadium.

The IT Department holds responsibility for GAA and Croke Park Stadium networks and systems and are at the forefront of deploying best in class solutions to meet all IT needs and requirements.

 

 

Reports/Accountable to:       IT Service Delivery Lead

 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 

·       Working on the service desk team proving end user support for PCs, printers, standard Microsoft Operating systems, Microsoft 365 and other applications, services and file shares etc;

·       Administration of Active Directory;

·       Assisting staff or clients, either face to face, over the telephone or via Microsoft Teams to help set up systems or resolve issues;

·       Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;

·       Prioritising and responding to issues within agreed service level agreements;

·       Installation and maintenance of hardware including PC’s, printers, mobile phones, server and network infrastructure;

·       Leading and supporting assigned projects and tasks;

·       Supporting weekend match days and events on a rotational basis;

·       Maintaining and following policies and processes of the IT department;

·       Liaising with Managed Service Providers


Essential Criteria:

·       Minimum level 8 honours degree in a technology related discipline or have completed relevant IT experience;

·       Experience of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10/11) and Office 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word);

·       Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills;

·       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;

·       Excellent organisational and time-management skills;

·       Demonstrated experience working in a team environment to deliver effective results;

·       Attention to detail and accuracy;

·       Creativity and enthusiasm;

·       Fluent in spoken and written English.

·       Eligible to live and work full time in Ireland


Desirable Criteria:

·       Knowledge of TCP/IP Networking;

·       Experience in working on an IT Service Desk

·       Experience in dealing with end users.

·       Experience in administering cloud solutions (Intune, Azure, Microsoft 365); 

·       Experience with Cisco networking and wireless solutions;

·       Experience working within an engineering/technology-based environment;

·       Understanding of virtualisation concepts and technologies;

·       An interest in, and knowledge of, Gaelic Games.

 

 

Other requirements

·       Due to the operational demands of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work onsite in Croke Park 5 days a week.
