🎭 Role & Team

We’re looking to hire a Full-Stack Software Developer with excellent technical skills and communication abilities to join our SDK & Extensibility squad.

We sell a platform that customers are supposed to make their own. Extending it shouldn’t require hiring a developer, or having to wait on our roadmap.

Your team owns that promise end to end: the Platform’s SDK, our customizable data model, the extension marketplace, and the AI assistant that makes it accessible to everybody.

You will join a team of 3 Full-Stack Developers (including a Team Lead), one Product Manager and one Product Designer, dedicated to gaiia’s extensibility surface.

đź“˝ What is your team working on?

Technically speaking, you will work in a serverless ecosystem of microservices deployed on a cloud infrastructure. gaiia is all-in on Typescript, with frontend, backend and infrastructure-as-code all leveraging Typescript.

More pragmatically, as part of the SDK & Extensibility squad, you will have the chance to work across four connected projects:

  • Platform SDK â€” lets developers build custom automations, UI panels, and integrations on top of gaiia, all indistinguishable from native features. This is the foundation everything else in the squad builds on.
  • Custom Objects â€” a system that lets tenants define their own object types (anything gaiia doesn’t model out of the box) with custom fields, relationships, and lifecycle. Every object gets the same reporting, API access, and permissions as a built-in one, from day one.
  • Extension Marketplace â€” today, extensions are first-party only, built by us or bespoke for a single tenant. We’re opening this up: third-party developers and partners building extensions that can be distributed, discovered, and installed across tenants, the way apps work on Shopify or Slack. That means new work on distribution, review, versioning, and multi-tenant safety that private extensions never had to solve.
  • AI-Native Extension Builder â€” a conversational, AI-powered way to build extensions, embedded directly in the product. A user describes what they want (“show this account’s Stripe balance and last 3 payments”) and sees it live on their actual account page, generated as real Platform SDK code they can inspect, edit, or hand to a developer.

Across all four, you’ll also:

  • Keep the extension sandbox safe and reliable, so anything built against the platform can’t take down the rest of the application.
  • Design, develop and deploy GraphQL APIs consumed by external developers, internal squads, and AI systems alike.
  • Collaborate closely with other squads who build on top of your primitives — from the workflow builder to individual feature squads extending their own modules.

🎖️ Qualifications

  • You have at least five (5) years of experience in the Javascript web ecosystem (Typescript is a big advantage).
  • You have experience with the React library.
  • You have experience with Node.js.
  • You have proven experience building with Coding Agents (Claude Code, Codex, etc.).
  • You care for long-term, sustainable architectural decisions.
  • You are known as a team player with impeccable work ethic.

🪄 Nice-to-haves

  • You have experience designing developer-facing APIs, SDKs, or plugin/extension systems.
  • You have experience with sandboxing, Web Workers, or isolated execution environments.
  • You have experience with GraphQL.
  • You have familiarity with the design of AI coding tools or LLM-based code generation.
  • You have strong intuitions about AI product design — you think about failure modes, edge cases, and user trust.
  • You have interest or expertise in functional programming.

đź’° Salary
