Job Summary

We are seeking a VP, Utility Value Engineer to make the business case for Gigawatt as compelling as the technology itself. Working alongside Strategic Account Executives, you will help utility leaders understand where Gigawatt can create value, shape solutions around their operating reality, and quantify the financial and operational outcomes that justify investment.

This is a customer-facing role for someone who can move fluently between utility operations, enterprise technology, and financial analysis. You will lead discovery and value workshops; translate priorities into customer-specific solution narratives; build ROI, TCO, CapEx, and OpEx models; and equip executive sponsors with a credible case for change. You will support opportunities from early qualification through close and, on priority accounts, help establish how promised value will be measured after deployment. The role reports to GTM leadership and works closely across Gigawatt teams.

Key Responsibilities

Make the business case the product: Translate utility priorities into a quantified case for change tied to operating outcomes, customer impact, cost reduction, risk, rate cases, and capital plans – not simply a feature comparison.

Lead utility-specific discovery:  Partner with Account Executives to uncover the customer’s operating model, strategic priorities, pain points, baseline performance, decision criteria, and sources of economic value across the buying committee.

Shape customer-specific solutions: Develop a strong command of the Gigawatt suite and work with technical and product teams to connect platform capabilities to each utility’s operating environment, integration landscape, and transformation roadmap.

Build rigorous value models: Develop transparent ROI, TCO, payback, CapEx, and OpEx analyses using customer data, defensible assumptions, industry benchmarks, and sensitivity scenarios. Clearly distinguish validated inputs from hypotheses.

Create executive narratives: Turn complex operational and technical findings into concise investment cases, executive presentations, and decision materials that withstand scrutiny from finance, procurement, technology, regulatory, and business leaders.

Navigate utility economics and regulation: Connect investment rationale to utility budgeting, rate cases, capital planning, cost recovery, regulatory commitments, reliability, affordability, customer outcomes, and other jurisdiction-specific considerations.

Design and facilitate value workshops: Lead structured working sessions with customer executives, operators, and subject-matter experts to align on problems, target outcomes, assumptions, solution scope, and measures of success.

Support the pursuit through close: Work as the AE’s value and utility-domain partner across demonstrations, proposals, RFIs and RFPs, business-case reviews, executive meetings, and commercial negotiations. Anticipate objections and give champions the evidence needed to build internal support.

Scale Gigawatt’s value practice: Build reusable benchmarks, value hypotheses, discovery tools, calculators, case studies, and module-specific value frameworks. Bring market insight back to Product and GTM teams to strengthen positioning and roadmap decisions.
