GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Provide daily supervision over production staff, and machine operators, to ensure personnel safety, food safety, product quality and production objectives are met and processes are followed, in alignment with organizational objectives


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Continuously improve working conditions through safety, quality, productivity, and cost control

Manage and assign routine tasks to production team and provide support towards the completion of tasks through ensuring they have the proper tools, supplies, and other resources to be successful

Assist in the training, development, and coaching of production team

Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, safety practices and procedures, quality control processes, and performance management

Verify, communicate, and resolve all quality and production discrepancies swiftly

Assist in the compliance of all Federal and State regulatory requirements, including compliance with internal and external audits, and company policies and procedures

Work with the management team in ensuring effective employee relations

Maintain inventory at levels that ensure customer satisfaction is met

Manage production priorities in accordance with production schedule, food safety, and direction given by management team

Oversee production performance measures and provide regular progress reports to the management team

Maintain open communication with management team and communicate any concerns in a timely manner

Assist customers and vendors with unloading and loading- including railcars

Ability to operate and train others on the roller, mixer, pellet mill, molassizer, cleaner and other stations

Assist with monitoring the levels of grain bins to ensure supplies for production are kept at acceptable levels

Demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service, ensuring that the customer experience achieves The Grange Way standard

Uphold all company policies and procedures

Demonstrate regular predictable attendance

Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has supervisory responsibilities over all production and machine operators.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers vendors, customers and others outside the company.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
