Associate Business Development Director

Position Summary:

The Associate Business Development Director is responsible for identifying and developing new business while ensuring that all customer needs are met. This role is responsible for developing and facilitating the proposal process for specific clients including budget and pricing development, proposal writing and client presentations. Additionally, pipeline growth is expected through daily cold-calling and lead generation activities using Prospecting Cadence, Sugar CRM, networking tools, social media, and in-bound lead progression. Training will be conducted by the Leadership Team and will constitute Strategic Selling, Healthcare, Information Technology, and specific Harmony Healthcare IT functions over a 12-18 month period. This position is an in-office, in-person, or hybrid role if local to South Bend, or remote if not local to South Bend.  This position will be working a team territory in partnership with tenured Business Development Director.


Essential Functions: 

  • Lead Development  
  • Prospecting Profiling and Definitive Healthcare usage
  • Internet research of health systems/organizations
  • Consolidation of detail to Blue Sheet and SCRM
  • Cadence usage to identify opportunities and upsell HHIT Services and Solutions
  • Weekly Report Out of prospecting and new opportunities identified
  • Identifies target hospitals and health systems 
  • Generates new leads 
  • Closes sales and achieves quarterly quotas 
  • Cultivates existing leads and prospects 
  • Takes ownership for transitioning new projects from sales to the operations team  
  • Prepares quotes, contracts, and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses for potential customers 
  • Prepares sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications 
  • Performs technical discovery to understand customer requirements and systems to be archived 
  • Documents all sales related activities and communications within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System 
  • Provides on-site and/or remote presentations to clients 
  • Assists with the generation of sales materials and documents 
  • Develops and distributes communications to current and prospective clients 
  • Performs market research and statistical analysis 
  • Learns and documents the sales process 
  • Strives to stay up to date with product features and enhancements 
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of market activities, industry trends and government regulations 
  • Strives to develop a deep understanding and knowledge of customer accounts and knows which data systems their accounts are running as well as the overall decommissioning strategy for any systems they are no longer using 
  • Provides onsite/remote services to catalog decommissioned systems along with timeframe, current maintenance dollars, and any budget that may be allocated 
  • Other duties as assigned 


Job Specifications: 

  • 2 years Sales and/or Account Management experience managing a book of business (multiple customer accounts) 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Clear, concise written and oral communication 
  • Basic understanding of project methodology 
  • Strong presentation skills and phone presence 
  • Fundamental understanding of health care industry, including processes and general business principles 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products 
  • Previous experience using a CRM, preferably SugarCRM or Salesforce
  • Experience with Zoom or another online meeting platform

  • Responsible for protecting data entrusted to HHIT by customers or other parties by strictly adhering to HHIT’s data security and privacy policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA, PIPEDA and all other applicable law 
  • Speaking and writing English is a requirement for this position
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
