Contract Multimedia Producer


Position Summary
The Multimedia Manager leads the creative vision, production, and execution of all multimedia storytelling for the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT). This position manages the organization’s visual identity across photography, videography, and social media platforms, ensuring alignment with HSNT’s mission and strategic goals.

As a key member of the Communications team, this role serves as the primary lead for the Multimedia Internship Program and supervises the contracted Photography & Design Coordinator. Working closely with the Development, Operations, and Communications teams, the Multimedia Manager ensures that creative content effectively supports fundraising, operations, brand awareness, and community engagement.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Direct Supervision: Lead, coach, and provide direction to the Photography & Design Coordinator and multimedia interns to ensure high-quality content production and brand consistency.
  • Workflow Optimization: Establish creative standards and efficient workflows across all multimedia initiatives to meet departmental deadlines.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner with department heads to develop creative campaigns that elevate HSNT’s visibility and engagement.

Social Media & Digital Content

  • Full-Scale Oversight: Direct all aspects of HSNT’s social media presence—from creative concept to final post—across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Strategy & Analytics: Partner with the Senior Director of Communications to develop platform-specific strategies, editorial calendars, and monthly analytics reporting.
  • Digital Storytelling: Support fundraising and adoption campaigns through cohesive, visually engaging digital storytelling that drives conversion.

Multimedia Internship Program Oversight & Mentorship

  • Onboarding & Training: Manage the recruitment and technical onboarding for all interns, providing hands-on training in brand standards to ensure quality benchmarks are met.
  • Project Management: Assign daily tasks and long-term projects, ensuring all interns deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and aligned with the content calendar.
  • Mentorship: Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews to support interns’ educational requirements and professional growth.
  • Quality Control: Act as the final line of review for intern-produced content, providing constructive critiques to maintain a professional brand voice.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all interns are aware of and comply with operational animal handling and safety protocols.

Multimedia Strategy & Oversight

  • Creative Direction: Direct the Photography & Design Coordinator in capturing high-quality imagery and video that aligns with HSNT’s visual identity.
  • Production Management: Oversee the end-to-end production of video content for TikTok, YouTube, and Meta, ensuring the Coordinator maintains a consistent tone and mission-centric messaging.
  • Campaign Integration: Translate organizational needs (fundraising, adoptions, events) into actionable shot lists and creative briefs for the Coordinator and interns.
  • Digital Asset Stewardship: Audit and oversee the maintenance of HSNT’s digital asset library, ensuring the archive is organized, tagged, and accessible.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform final reviews on all media assets to ensure they meet HSNT’s professional standards before public release.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of this Position

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing creative staff and interns.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and related platforms.
  • Knowledge of social media management tools, content scheduling, analytics, and digital engagement trends.
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Understanding of animal behavior and comfort handling pets in a shelter environment.
  • Familiarity with PetPoint is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
