Hypervision Surgical

Clinical Product Specialist – Surgical Vision Platform

About Hypervision Surgical

Hypervision Surgical (“Hypervision”) is a spin-out from King’s College London, founded by clinicians and experts in medical imaging and artificial intelligence. Using safe light alone, our mission is to equip surgeons with real-time, AI-driven tissue intelligence to improve precision and patient safety.

We are pioneering the world’s first regulatory-cleared real-time intraoperative spectral imaging platform, combining on-chip spectral sensing with high-speed AI analytics at over 60 frames per second. Seamlessly integrating into existing surgical vision systems, our technology transforms standard cameras into intelligent, data-rich tools, revealing anatomical, physiological, and pathological information beyond human vision.

Certified for both open and minimally invasive surgery, our platform achieved UKCA certification and FDA clearance in 2025 under a newly established AI/ML product code, and was admitted into the FDA’s Safer Technology Program. With multi-centre clinical evaluations underway and strategic partnerships with world-leading technology and surgical manufactures, including imec and ZEISS Ventures, Hypervision is shaping the future of data-driven surgery.

The Role

We are seeking a highly user-centric, relationship-driven, and commercially aware Clinical Product Specialist to support the successful real-world adoption and market development of our surgical vision platform during a critical early commercial phase across selected hospital sites in the UK, Europe, and the United States.

In this role, you will operate at the intersection of clinical use, product development, and product market insights, ensuring our technology is not only adopted successfully in real surgical environments, but also delivers meaningful clinical value, fits real workflows, and can be sustainably adopted and paid for.

Through direct engagement with surgeons, operating room teams, and hospital stakeholders, you will generate structured, evidence-based insights that inform product evolution, usability, cloud platform development, and go-to-market focus. You will play a key role in distinguishing clinical interest from true adoption-driving value, helping ensure decisions are grounded in real-world evidence rather than assumptions.

You will translate real-world experience into clear product requirements, value narratives, and decision-ready recommendations, supporting prioritisation, sequencing, and investment decisions. Internally, you will work closely with Clinical Development, Technology, Compliance, Cloud Platform, and Commercial teams, acting as the internal-facing voice of the user and contributing to both product direction and commercial readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Product & Market Insight

  • Engage directly with surgeons, OR teams, and hospital stakeholders to understand real-world workflows and clinical needs.
  • Identify where value is created, where friction arises, and what drives or limits adoption.
  • Distinguish between clinical interest, perceived value, and value that drives sustained use.
  • Consolidate signals of clinical value, workflow impact, and willingness to pay.
  • Assess whether current use is generating meaningful value signals and identify gaps between current product use and real-world adoption drivers.
  • Contribute to clinical messaging, positioning, and value proposition, grounded in real-world use.
  • Translate field experience into clear, evidence-backed narratives for commercial engagement.

Product & Platform Input

  • Capture, document and structure insights related to workflows, usability, system performance, and integration.
  • Translate real-world experience into input for product evolution, workflow improvements, and platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to defining user- and workflow-driven requirements for the cloud-enabled platform, aligned with clinical and operational needs.
  • Create and refine clinical content and customer-facing materials.
  • Support evaluation of form factor, usability, and workflow fit in real OR environments.

Customer Engagement & Deployment

  • Support onboarding and training at early adopter and commercial test sites.
  • Build trusted relationships with clinical and hospital stakeholders.
  • Ensure smooth and reliable day-to-day use of the system during clinical procedures and hospital workflows.
  • Identify and resolve operational challenges during clinical use, working constructively with hospital teams.
  • Work with hospital IT, information security, and procurement teams to support deployment and integration of cloud-enabled systems in hospital environments.

Evidence-Based Decision Support

  • Document and synthesise findings into clear, decision-ready recommendations.
  • Highlight validated vs unvalidated assumptions, strength of evidence, and key risks.
  • Support prioritisation and sequencing decisions, including where further validation is required before scaling.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Scaling

  • Work closely with Technology, Clinical Development, Compliance, Cloud Platform and Commercial teams.
  • Ensure insights are effectively triaged, communicated, and acted upon across the organisation.
  • Support the transition to credible, repeatable, and referenceable customer sites.
  • Contribute to scalable delivery and commercialisation models.

About You

You are a user-centric, curious, and driven professional who enjoys working at the intersection of clinical environments, product development, and market understanding. You are comfortable engaging directly with clinicians, observing real-world workflows, and translating complex, often qualitative, insights into structured input that improves both products and commercial strategy.

You are motivated by understanding what truly drives adoption and value, and are comfortable questioning assumptions and identifying where evidence is weak to support decisions.

You take pride in turning real-world use into better products and clearer value propositions, helping ensure innovative technologies translate successfully into everyday clinical practice.

You are willing to travel internationally as required to support and learn from customer sites across the UK, Europe, and the United States.

You bring:

  • Experience contributing to clinical product discovery, development and positioning, grounded in real-world clinical use.
  • Hands-on experience working in surgical or interventional clinical environments, with exposure to operating rooms and direct engagement with surgeons and OR teams.
  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships with clinical and hospital stakeholders.
  • Experience translating qualitative user insights into structured, actionable input that informs product, workflow, or commercial decisions.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with clinical, engineering, and operational teams.
  • Experience contributing to user-centred product improvement through real-world observation and feedback.
  • Comfort operating in regulated medical device environments, with awareness of when and how to escalate clinical, regulatory, or safety-related issues.

Desirable:

  • Experience in MedTech, surgical systems, medical imaging, or AI-enabled clinical products.
  • Experience supporting early commercial deployments or pilot programmes.
  • Experience interpreting clinical value, workflow impact, and willingness-to-pay signals in real-world settings.
  • Familiarity with hospital IT, information security, procurement, and integration processes.
  • Familiarity with usability engineering or human factors processes in medical devices.
  • Experience with cloud-enabled or software-driven systems in hospital environments.
  • Experience helping translate clinical usage and workflow insights into evidence of value, supporting early commercial adoption and willingness-to-pay discussions.
  • Experience helping translate early adopter collaborations into repeatable, scalable customer success models.

Bonus points if you bring a special talent, interest, language, or unique life experience to the team.
