Strategic Communications & Marketing Director

About the role

The Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing will develop the strategy and infrastructure to translate IQSig’s technical expertise and mission impact into market visibility, customer engagement, strategic relationships, talent attraction, and revenue opportunities. Working closely with executive leadership, business development, recruiting, technical teams, and external partners, this role will establish a differentiated and credible market position for IQSig across the defense, intelligence, national security, and technology ecosystems.

What you'll do

Corporate Strategy & Positioning

  • Develop and execute IQSig’s corporate marketing and communications strategy in alignment with growth objectives.
  • Define and continuously refine the company’s positioning, value proposition, differentiation, and corporate narrative.
  • Translate complex technical and mission-oriented capabilities into compelling messages for customers, partners, talent, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop messaging and brand frameworks that create consistency across proposals, presentations, digital channels, events, recruiting, and executive communications.


Growth & Business Development

  • Partner with leadership and business development to use marketing as a driver of pipeline development and revenue growth.
  • Develop account-based strategies and campaigns around priority customers, programs, capabilities, and markets.
  • Support capture and proposal activities through competitive intelligence, customer insights, market research, and differentiated messaging.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with defense primes, technology partners, investors, industry organizations, and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Establish metrics that connect marketing activity to meaningful business outcomes.


Executive & External Communications

  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to the executive leadership team.
  • Develop executive messaging, presentations, thought leadership, and strategic narratives for customers, partners, industry events, media, and other audiences.
  • Build IQSig’s external profile through public relations, thought leadership, industry engagement, and original content.
  • Identify opportunities to position IQSig executives and technical experts as credible voices on emerging national security and technology issues.
  • Develop communications strategies around major contracts, partnerships, technology milestones, and company initiatives.


Digital, Brand & Talent

  • Lead IQSig’s digital and content strategy, including website, search visibility, social media, and emerging AI-driven discovery channels.
  • Build an employer-brand strategy that differentiates IQSig from larger defense primes and competing technology companies.
  • Partner with recruiting to attract highly specialized engineering, technical, intelligence, and national security talent.
  • Establish a disciplined brand platform that supports both corporate positioning and individual technical capabilities.


Market Intelligence & Strategic Partnerships

  • Establish an ongoing competitive and market-intelligence capability covering competitors, defense primes, emerging technologies, government priorities, acquisitions, partnerships, and industry trends.
  • Identify market whitespace and emerging opportunities where IQSig’s capabilities can provide differentiated value.
  • Develop actionable insights for executive leadership and business development.
  • Identify high-value conferences, industry forums, strategic partnerships, and other opportunities to expand IQSig’s market presence.
  • Help prioritize where IQSig should invest its resources to generate the greatest strategic return.


Qualifications


  • 12+ years of progressive experience in strategic marketing, corporate communications, business development, public affairs, investor relations, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex technical, scientific, financial, or business concepts into compelling communications.
  • Experience advising senior executives and working across functions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, writing, and relationship-building capabilities.
  • A highly resourceful, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to build processes and programs from the ground up.
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, intelligence, national security, government technology, cybersecurity, or another highly technical industry is preferred.


The pay range for this position is between $140,000 and $210,000 per year. This position is benefits and bonus-eligible.
