Position Overview

Kinetic Custom Trailers is seeking a Business Systems Specialist to support the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of the systems, processes, and initiatives that enable organizational growth.


Reporting to the Business Systems Team, this role serves as a key contributor in transforming ideas, projects, and improvement opportunities into practical, sustainable outcomes. The Business Systems Specialist will work across departments to improve visibility, strengthen business processes, coordinate implementation efforts, and support the adoption of systems that increase organizational effectiveness.

 

This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, coordinating projects, and helping teams operate more efficiently through better systems and information.


Key Responsibilities 

Business Systems Support

Support the implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of business systems that enable Kinetic to scale effectively and operate efficiently.


Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Microsoft Business Central and related business system initiatives.
  • Participating in system testing, validation, documentation, and implementation activities.
  • Assisting with process alignment and user adoption of new systems.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve how systems support business operations.
  • Supporting automation, integration, and workflow improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting users with system-related documentation and process understanding.

 

Process Improvement

Support the development and implementation of efficient, scalable, and repeatable business processes across the organization.


Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in process diagnostics and workflow analysis.
  • Documenting current-state and supporting future-state processes.
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assisting with implementation of process improvements across departments.
  • Supporting process governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Helping identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve operational workflows.

 

Project & Change Execution

Help ensure strategic initiatives and improvement projects are effectively coordinated, implemented, and adopted.


Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating activities related to strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Tracking actions, milestones, decisions, and follow-up items.
  • Facilitating communication between departments and project stakeholders.
  • Supporting implementation and adoption of new systems, tools, and processes.
  • Assisting with project planning, documentation, and progress reporting.
  • Helping maintain momentum and accountability throughout project execution.

 

Business Intelligence & Performance Visibility

Support informed decision-making through improved reporting, performance measurement, and operational visibility.


Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting data collection, validation, and analysis activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assisting in the development of dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Supporting visibility into organizational performance, capacity, and operational constraints.

 

Knowledge Management

Support the development and maintenance of organizational knowledge and documentation systems.


Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining process documentation and knowledge repositories.
  • Supporting development of training materials and process communications.
  • Ensuring critical organizational knowledge is documented and accessible.
  • Supporting information governance, organization, and accessibility initiatives.
  • Helping establish consistent documentation standards across departments.


Required Qualifications 

  • Post-secondary education in PMP Certifications, Operations Management, Information Systems, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Process improvement, Lean, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence experience.
  • Project coordination or project management experience.
  • Data analysis and reporting experience.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Documentation, SOP development, or knowledge management experience.

Schedule & Work Details 

  • Hours: Full-time, 8:00 - 4:30 PM
  • Location: Penticton, BC
  • Environment: Industrial manufacturing environment, shop floor and office.
