Kraken Robotics is currently seeking a Payroll & People Analytics Coordinator to join our team in Mount Pearl, NL.


This role sits at the intersection of People & Culture (P&C) operations and data, ensuring employees are paid correctly, group benefits programs and other perks run smoothly, and leadership has access to meaningful workforce analytics to support decision-making.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration

  • Support end-to-end global payroll on a regular cycle of semi-monthly across North Americal and monthly across the United Kingdom
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, including salaries and statutory deductions
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local tax and employment regulations
  • Liaise with external payroll providers and internal finance teams
  • Support audits and reporting requirements

Benefits Administration

  • Support the employee benefits programs (health, retirement, insurance, wellness)
  • Support employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits systems
  • Act as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries
  • Coordinate with brokers and vendors to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Support benefits renewals and benchmarking
  • Administer the employee perks and discount programs

People Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain and analyze People & Culture data (headcount, turnover, compensation, absenteeism)
  • Build and maintain dashboards and regular reports for leadership
  • Identify trends and provide actionable insights to improve employee experience and retention
  • Ensure data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with employment standards, tax laws, and internal policies
  • Maintain documentation of payroll and benefits processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy
  • Support P&C projects and system implementations

Qualifications and Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in payroll, benefits, P&C operations, data analytics or similar role
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in business administration, accounting, finance, analytics or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365; experience with data visualization tools is a plus
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with an ability to see trends and provide insights in complex data sets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multi-country payroll
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Certification in payroll or Human Resources (e.g., PCP, CPP, CIPD)
  • Experience in a fast-paced or scaling organization
