Workers’ Compensation

LNN Law is a dedicated applicant-side workers’ compensation law firm committed to protecting the rights of injured workers throughout California. We represent employees navigating the complexities of workplace injuries, occupational illnesses, denied or delayed claims, medical treatment disputes, temporary and permanent disability benefits, and other workers’ compensation matters. Position Overview

The Law Clerk will work closely with Partners and Associate Attorneys, on California workers' compensation matters, assisting with legal research, drafting pleadings and discovery, reviewing medical records, preparing hearing materials, client communication, and supporting all phases of litigation before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).

Responsibilities

· Assist attorneys with handling workers' compensation claims from intake through resolution.

· Draft legal documents, including applications, petitions, declarations, discovery requests, and legal correspondence.

· Conduct legal research on California workers' compensation laws, regulations, and case law.

· Review, organize, and summarize medical records, treatment reports, and employment records.

· Analyze claim files and prepare case summaries for attorney review.

· Assist with discovery, including drafting responses, reviewing document productions, and preparing exhibits.

· Communicate with clients regarding case status, medical treatment updates, and document requests.

· Coordinate with medical providers, insurance adjusters, employers, and opposing counsel.

· Prepare hearing, deposition, mediation, and trial binders.

· Assist attorneys in preparing for Mandatory Settlement Conferences (MSCs), depositions, lien conferences, and Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) hearings.

· Track deadlines and maintain accurate case management records.

· Draft settlement documents and assist with file closing procedures.

· Attend hearings, depositions, and client meetings when appropriate.

· Perform administrative and litigation support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or graduated from an accredited law school
• Open to 1L, 2L, 3L-year law students or post Bar graduates
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to handle multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment
• Professional communication skills and attention to detail
• Interest in Workers Compensation Law

Compensation and Benefits

·         Hourly pay rates from $20 - $35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

·         Benefits – subject to eligibility and applicable firm policies
