Technician Internship

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated students to join us for manufacturing technician internships. As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills on projects that have a significant impact. Internships are based at our Alameda, CA site and support manufacturing operations across our Design, Test, Electrical, Software, and Mechanical engineering teams, giving you exposure to how hardware moves from concept to build.

Role Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $17.76/hour

Location: On-Site Alameda, CA

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a manufacturing, machining, welding, electronics, mechatronics, or related technical/vocational program, or pursuing a degree in engineering, physics, math, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ months of hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, machining, or hardware builds (coursework, internships, personal projects, or team projects are applicable).
  • Comfortable reading technical drawings, blueprints, or assembly instructions.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and/or basic machine shop equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic professional setting with changing needs and requirements.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. Persons as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
