Manly Bands Job Opportunities!

Product Director

About Manly Bands

John and Michelle, co-founders of Manly Bands, started their company after a terrible experience trying to get John's wedding band. Not only could the jewelers not size John's big hands, but the choices they had were plain and boring. John wanted a ring he could get excited about. So they decided to shake up the wedding band industry. They quit their jobs, moved across the country, got married, and started Manly Bands all in 30 days!

John dove into the website and marketing while Michelle gave each ring it's unique personality and took excellent care of their customers. Michelle's mom and dad were helping them ship out the orders and write thank you cards while John's mom was making wood wedding boxes. Since 2016, they've moved to Utah and grown to now have an incredible team always pushing the limits of what can fit in a ring and how it can be captured on film.

Our Mission

It's simple, Manly Bands helps every man (woman, and alien) find a genuine badass and unique-to-them wedding band. We believe if you are going to wear one ring for the rest of your life, then you better be guaran 'damn 'teed to love it. Manly Bands was created so that EVERYONE could have a buying experience with reverence, class, and love during the selection process.

Product Director

Manly Bands · Rosie Ray · Lindon, Utah (on-site)

Quick gut-check before you keep reading: do you get genuinely excited by product — the samples, the sourcing, the “what if we made this out of meteorite” meetings? Good. That's the job.

Manly Bands built a wedding ring business by refusing to make boring rings. Since 2016 we've sold to nearly 900,000 couples, forged bands out of meteorite, Damascus steel, dinosaur bone, and landed licensing deals nerds only dream about — Lord of the Rings, Jack Daniel's, DC, Halo, Fender, Jeep. We built Rosie Ray to give her a ring worth talking about too. And we're just getting started on what's next.

Now we need someone to run product like it's their own shop — organized, opinionated, and completely unbothered by ego — across Manly Bands, Rosie Ray, and whatever we launch next.

The Role

The Product Director owns product end-to-end — from concept and line planning through sampling, licensing approvals, and production handoff — across Manly Bands, Rosie Ray, and future product lines. You'll report directly to one of our Co-CEOs, and you'll be one of the people they trust to bring both structure and instinct to a fast-moving, founder-led business.

Reports to:  Co-CEO

Direct reports:  2 product specialists initially, with room to grow as the team scales

Location:  Lindon, Utah

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle across Manly Bands, Rosie Ray, and future product lines — concept, line planning, sampling, approvals, production handoff, and culling.
  • Build and manage product roadmaps that balance new launches, seasonal collections, and licensed partnerships against timeline and margin realities.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of two product specialists — setting priorities, unblocking their work, and building the muscle for a bigger team down the line.
  • Partner with design, sourcing, merchandising, and marketing to turn concepts into products that are both distinctive and commercially sound.
  • Bring real structure to product development — timelines, specs, sample tracking, approval workflows, QA checkpoints — without flattening the creativity that makes our product different.
  • Manage licensing relationships and partner approvals for co-branded collections, keeping execution on-brand and on schedule.
  • Assist in our wholesale and retail program as we onboard new retailers and stores.
  • Own on-site merchandising strategy: product presentation, pricing architecture, and assortment planning across collections.
  • Use sales, margin, and customer feedback data to decide what to build next, what to retire, and what to double down on.
  • Be open to ideas from the broader organization in product brainstorming instead of designing in a vacuum. Run the sessions that make that input useful.
  • Manage development budgets and timelines across multiple SKUs and collections running at once.
  • Represent product in leadership conversations — translate the roadmap and the reasoning behind it for the Co-CEOs and cross-functional partners.

What You Bring

  • Strong e-commerce background, including hands-on experience designing products and managing the projects that get them to market.
  • Director or Senior Product Management experience of 3 years or more.
  • You’re a team player, fun to hang with, creative, who is collaborative, but with wonderful project management skills.
  • A track record as a senior project manager, product lead, or head of a product department — you've run this before at a level of scale that matters.
  • Highly organized, with the discipline to keep multiple product lines and specialists moving without dropping a thread.
  • Experienced and confident — but ego-free. You lead by making the work better, not by being the loudest voice in the room.
  • Flexible and adaptable, genuinely open to input and feedback, and quick to change course when the feedback is good.
  • Both creative and structured — ideally you lean structured, with sharp creative instincts layered on top.
  • A real love for the product and brand space. You want to go deeper into product, not use this as a launchpad into broader operations.
  • Comfortable operating in both scrappy, small-business environments and larger, more established organizations.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience managing licensing relationships or co-branded/licensed product lines.
  • A merchandising background — assortment, pricing, or on-site presentation.
  • Wholesale & retail experience
  • Product design experience in men's accessories, wedding, or jewelry categories.

Why Manly Bands

We're a product-obsessed, founder-led team that builds rings people actually want to wear — and we bring the same energy to how we treat the people who build them. We have our own shop on site and a very collaborative team that creates the best rings around. You'll have real influence over the product direction of multiple brands, a direct line to a Co-CEO, and a team that wants your input, not just your sign-off. No boring rings. No boring roadmap, either. This is a great opportunity for someone who is ready and excited to run their own department and has the skills to improve our process, mentor a small team, and help us get to the next level.
