• Seeking a Systems Engineer to help develop and sustain solutions that automate manual processes so mission customers can focus on more complex operational challenges

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs and translate mission requirements into system requirements and technical specifications
• Develop and maintain Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation
• Use high-level system architectures to derive system requirements specifications
• Analyze system requirements and participate in system design and development activities
• Guide users in formulating requirements and identifying technical needs
• Evaluate alternative approaches and conduct feasibility studies
• Plan and conduct system verification and validation activities
• Lead or support Systems Engineering efforts throughout the full system lifecycle
• Develop system design alternatives considering lifecycle cost, reuse, complexity, technical risk, system expansion, and future growth
• Conduct or approve end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system operations and balance non-functional performance requirements
• Recommend preferred technical solutions based on established selection criteria
• Define system and software interfaces in terms of source, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics
• Maintain awareness of current and evolving agency, national, and international standards applicable to system development
• Support effective configuration management and periodic review of hardware, software, and associated system documentation
• Implement and support comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
• IT Systems Support

• • Support implementation, troubleshooting, administration, and maintenance of Information Technology systems
  • Manage IT infrastructure and associated operational processes
  • Support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution across client, server, storage, and network environments
  • Provide Tier 1 Help Desk and Tier 2 escalation support for technical issues
  • Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system problems
  • Configure and manage UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems
  • Install and maintain operating system software
  • Troubleshoot and configure network components
  • Maintain system integrity, reliability, and operational performance
  • Implement operating system enhancements that improve availability and performance
  • Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, administrators, and mission stakeholders within Agile and DevOps environments

Required Qualifications

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
• DoD IAT Level I certification or higher
• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
• Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
• Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts
• Ability to implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture solutions
• Ability to conduct or approve end-to-end system trade analyses
• Ability to manage and control evolving hardware and software configurations throughout the system lifecycle
• Ability to develop system design alternatives addressing lifecycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, scalability, and growth
• Ability to maintain knowledge of applicable agency, national, and international technical standards
• Ability to evaluate alternatives and recommend preferred solutions based on defined criteria
• Ability to provide technical direction across the full Systems Engineering lifecycle
• Ability to fully define software and system interfaces, including origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics

Desired Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience as a System Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Six (6) years of combined experience with UNIX and Linux operating systems
• Experience analyzing and resolving complex problems involving server hardware, applications, and software integration
• Experience supporting Windows environments
• Experience with client/server, storage, and network infrastructure
• Experience supporting Agile development and DevOps environments

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
