About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Verification and Validation Engineer to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for validating system functionality, performance, and reliability by developing test strategies, defining test plans, and executing verification activities across different system modules.

The role requires close collaboration with software, hardware, and system teams to ensure that products meet functional requirements and comply with industry standards.

The ideal candidate should have strong automation skills, experience with RF test environments, and familiarity with wireless communication technologies.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze system and product requirements and Specifications and translate them into comprehensive verification and validation strategies;
  • Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and validation procedures to ensure complete coverage of system requirements;
  • Perform verification and validation activities for different modules and ensure proper integration across the system;
  • Design, develop, and maintain tools automated test frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage;
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and system-level tests;
  • Investigate, analyze, and debug issues discovered during testing and work with development teams to resolve them;
  • Utilize RF test instruments and Network Analizer tools to validate system performance and behavior;
  • Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, and sprint planning activities;
  • Support CI/CD integration by enabling automated testing in build pipelines;
  • Prepare clear documentation including test reports, validation results, and defect tracking;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test methodologies, automation frameworks, and validation processes;
  • Work in an agile development environment and actively participate in scrum ceremonies and sprint activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience;
  • 8 or more years of experience in verification, validation, system testing, or a related engineering role;
  • Strong programming skills with hands-on experience in developing automation scripts and test frameworks;
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and Ethernet;
  • Familiarity with network analysis and debugging tools such as Wireshark;
  • Experience using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and version control systems such as Git or Bitbucket;
  • Experience working in agile development environments including scrum and sprint cycles;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex system issues;
  • Strong desire to continuously expand technical knowledge and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment;
  • Eligible to obtain a Canadian Security Clearance.

Key assets:

  • Experience working with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, channel simulators, oscilloscopes, and similar lab instruments;
  • Experience creating and executing automated test cases in complex system environments;
  • Practical knowledge and experience with wireless protocols such as 5G NR, LTE, UMTS, GSM at multiple levels of the protocol stack.
