ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Orion180 is seeking a highly motivated and creative Training Specialist to help expand and enhance Orion180 University, our agent education and development platform.
  •  This role is ideal for someone who understands independent insurance agents, enjoys translating complex insurance concepts into engaging learning experiences, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Training Specialist will play a key role in developing educational content that helps agents grow their business while confidently understanding Orion180’s products, underwriting philosophy, systems, and technology-driven processes.

This is not a traditional training role focused solely on presentations. We are looking for someone who can think like an educator, communicate like a marketer, and organize information to help agents succeed.

The ideal candidate will combine insurance knowledge, creativity, instructional design, and technical proficiency to create high-quality learning experiences across multiple formats, including on-demand courses, live learning sessions, job aids, walkthrough videos, scripts, and visual training content.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Create engaging learning materials based on LXD designs and storyboards, including:
  • Microlearning content
  • eLearning modules
  • Instructor-led training materials
  • Job aids and supporting resources
  • Collaborate with LXDs, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure content meets learning objectives and business needs
  • Participate in design discussions and share ideas to improve content development processes and tools
  • Review and edit materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
  • Perform quality checks to ensure content meets established standards and guidelines
  • Stay up to date on learning trends, tools, and best practices in instructional design
  • Recommend new approaches or technologies to enhance learning effectiveness

Additional Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who combines creativity, technical skill, and strong collaboration. Ideal candidates will bring:

  • Experience creating scalable learning solutions for classroom, virtual, and online environments
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design best practices
  • Ability to design engaging learning experiences, from immersive simulations to quick, impactful microlearning
  • Confidence developing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Strong visual design and storytelling skills, including experience with storyboarding and course development
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred in instructional design, education, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Experience working within the Property & Casualty insurance industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of independent insurance agents, agency workflows, and the challenges agents face in today’s marketplace.
  • Experience developing training, educational, or instructional content preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with the ability to create visually engaging and professional presentations.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging educational content.
  • Comfortable creating scripts, walkthroughs, instructional narration, and process documentation.
  • Experience capturing screens, organizing visual demonstrations, and supporting video-based learning content.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to make technical or underwriting information easy to understand and retain.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across departments while also being self-directed and proactive.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), webinar platforms, or e-learning platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools such as LearnUpon, Zoom, Canva, Articulate Storyline, or similar educational technology platforms is preferred.
