The Team You Will Join

You’ll be part of the K-5 academics team, working closely with teachers, case managers, Academic Success Coaches, instructional coaches, and school leadership.

The team culture is collaborative, supportive, fast-paced, mission-driven, and deeply focused on closing foundational literacy gaps so every student can read proficiently and confidently.


The Difference You Will Make

In this role, your work will directly help students who are struggling with reading build the foundational skills—phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension—they need to succeed across every subject, not just literacy.

You’ll help Primavera strengthen literacy outcomes schoolwide, support compliance with Arizona’s Move On When Reading (MOWR) requirements.


A Typical Day Looks Like

While no two days are exactly the same, you can expect to:

  • Deliver daily small-group literacy intervention to students identified through MTSS as needing Tier 2 or Tier 3 support
  • Focus instruction on phonemic awareness, phonics and decoding, word reading fluency, reading fluency, and comprehension
  • Use DIBELS and other assessment data to identify student needs and form flexible, needs-based intervention groups
  • Progress monitor students regularly and adjust instruction based on results
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, Academic Success Coaches, and school leadership on student progress
  • Participate in MTSS meetings and intervention planning
  • Maintain documentation and progress-monitoring data to support MOWR compliance

This position requires availability to work core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Arizona time, Monday through Friday.

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys working closely with struggling readers, believes every student can become a confident reader with the right support, and wants to see the direct, measurable impact of their work.


Your Expertise Includes

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Valid Standard Professional Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Experience delivering small-group literacy intervention to K-5 students, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 support
  • Strong working knowledge of phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension instruction
  • Comfort using assessment and progress-monitoring data (e.g., DIBELS) to drive instructional decisions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, coaches, students and families
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card


Bonus points if you also have:

  • A Reading Endorsement or Reading Specialist certification
  • Structured Literacy / Science of Reading training (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, LETRS)
  • Experience with MTSS platforms such as Branching Minds
  • Teaching experience in a virtual or online learning environment

  • Performs other duties aligned to the role and organizational needs as assigned.

Teachers— Required Duties

  • All teachers are required to actively support and participate in state-mandated testing periods. This is considered an essential function of the role.
  • Participation in state testing is a condition of employment for all instructional and student-facing roles.
  • State testing may span approximately 6 consecutive weeks and require full availability during scheduled testing windows.
  • Teachers must be able to travel to assigned testing locations within the state of Arizona, including locations outside of their home city.
  • Attendance during state testing is mandatory, and time off will not be approved during designated testing windows except as required by law and in extraordinary circumstances.
  • Teachers are required to assist with proctoring, coordination, and student support during testing.
  • Attendance at key school events (e.g., student orientations, school-sponsored activities, and other events aligned to this role) is required, based on role responsibilities and reasonable proximity to the event location. These events may occur outside of regular working hours and may require occasional travel.
