Overview

ReloMetrics is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team, specifically focusing on our Core and Growth verticals within the Relo Metrics Engineering division. As we scale, we need a people leader and daily technical leader to take over the day-to-day management of these critical teams, ensuring seamless delivery and professional growth for our engineers.

You will oversee two distinct teams:

  • Core Team: Focused on the general platform, background analysis, and data annotation.
  • Growth Team: Focused on client-facing initiatives and expansion.

This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering and plays a pivotal role in the delivery of our high-performance engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership & Management

  • Team Oversight: Manage a total of 8 direct reports across the Core and Growth teams.
  • Daily Management: Take full ownership of day-to-day operations, support issue resolution, performance management, and deliverable tracking.
  • Growth & Mentorship: Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and provide the mentorship needed for ICs to excel.
  • Hiring & Onboarding: Lead the evolution of our hiring process and onboarding guides as we continue to scale the team.

Technical Execution & Strategy

  • Project Scoping: Collaborate with Product teams to prioritize, technically design, and scope projects, ensuring they align with ReloMetrics' strategic objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance technical processes and boost project efficiency.
  • Hands-on Contribution: While primarily a management role, you are expected to stay current with state-of-the-art technology and be willing to contribute part of your day to code to the codebase when necessary.
  • Blocker Removal: Proactively identify and remove technical or administrative blockers to ensure team productivity.
  • Continuous AI Adoption: Develop on existing AI workflow for Engineering Team and push for complete adoption. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with the Optimization team (CV & Data Analysis) and other stakeholders to brainstorm innovative solutions and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Revenue Alignment: Maintain the ability to connect engineering milestones to monetary and revenue outcomes.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field

Experience

  • 1–2+ years of experience managing a technology team, either as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager (experience managing globally distributed teams a plus; experience managing third-party contractors a plus)
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in Software Engineering or AI/ML
  • Familiarity with Computer Vision (CV), Data Analysis, or General Platform scaling is highly preferred

Skills & Attributes

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Python and experience with scalable, cloud-based environments (AWS ecosystem preferred).
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical team members.
  • Problem Solving: A critical thinker who can break down complex problems and navigate ambiguity.
  • Location: Ideally based in the Dallas, TX area; however, we are also open to candidates in Los Angeles, CA


What's In It For You?

At Relo Metrics, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits and wellness. The reasonable estimated base pay range for this role is from $145,814 - $190,000 OTE (base + bonus) annually. The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions.


The total rewards package offered also includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
