About Respondology
Respondology is the AI-powered social engagement platform that modernizes how social marketers moderate, listen to, and respond to comments at scale.
The world’s top brands rely on Respondology to transform comment sections into community, commerce, and competitive intelligence. Fast to deploy and easy to use, our customers engage with over 2 billion collective followers every month.
About the Role
Respondology is looking for a self-directed Content Marketing Manager to own thought leadership, PR, and editorial across our brand. This role is for a storyteller at heart — someone who can spot a narrative, pitch it, write it, and place it. You'll shape how marketers, agencies, and brand leaders hear about Respondology and the conversations happening in their comment sections.
We're looking for someone who runs the entire content playbook. You're comfortable using AI as a force multiplier (drafting, research, repurposing) without ever shipping the generic output that gives AI content a bad name. We're marketing to marketers, and they can tell the difference.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to live in strategy decks. We want a doer with strong instincts — someone who can hold the editorial vision and execute on it day-to-day without needing the path cleared in front of them.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and write thought leadership content, including bylines, executive POVs, long-form essays, and original research, that establishes Respondology and our leadership team as an authoritative voice on social comments, community, and brand safety.
- Own the editorial calendar end-to-end: planning, sourcing, assigning, editing, and shipping on cadence.
- Pitch stories to journalists, podcasters, and industry publications, and build the media relationships that turn customer wins and platform data into earned coverage.
- Lead PR efforts in partnership with leadership, including announcements, press releases, awards submissions, speaking opportunities, and reactive moments tied to industry news.
- Write and edit blog posts, case studies, customer stories, and email content that translate complex platform data into sharp, useful narratives for marketers.
- Support product marketing releases with customer announcements, sales enablement materials, and presentation content.
- Use AI tools fluently in your workflow while owning the voice, judgment, and final polish that make content worth reading.
Here's what you need to get our attention:
- 5–7 years of experience in content marketing, editorial, PR, or communications (B2B SaaS experience strongly preferred).
- A journalism, editorial, or communications background — you've reported, pitched, edited, or built a beat, and it shows in how you write.
- Demonstrated experience developing thought leadership content and getting it placed, read, and shared - by people and LLMs alike.
- Direct experience pitching stories to the media and managing press relationships.
- Editorial calendar ownership in a previous role — not just contributing to one.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills. You can turn a messy idea, a data point, or a 45-minute SME interview into a piece that reads cleanly and lands a point.
- Self-starter mentality. You're energized by ambiguity, you set your own priorities, and you ship.
- Fluency with AI tools as part of your daily workflow, paired with a high bar for what actually goes out the door.
- Martech or social media industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Here’s what will make us call you for sure:
- Experience with SEO and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) — you understand how to write so that content surfaces in both traditional search and AI-driven answer engines, and you think about how Respondology shows up when an LLM gets asked about our space.
- A portfolio with bylines, placed pitches, or thought leadership pieces you can point to.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Mailchimp).
- Comfort with content performance metrics and the understanding of how to act on what they tell you.
- Experience writing for or about marketers, agencies, or brand teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple projects without dropping balls.
