Director, Data and Analytics

About Ritual

Ritual is a personal health brand that is raising the bar for daily wellness. Known for our best-selling, clinically backed prenatal, we create science-backed supplements with transparency at their core. We believe women deserve products they can trust, backed by real evidence—not just promises.

We started by reinventing the multivitamin with the first visible supply chain of its kind. Today, we’re expanding into new categories with the same high standards that built our reputation. Hundreds of thousands trust Ritual, and we’re growing fast.

Our team of 120+ scientists, creatives, and skeptics is raising the bar for women’s health. We’re venture-backed, based in sunny Los Angeles, and always looking for people ready to challenge the industry—and do the best work of their careers.

About the role

We're looking for a Director, Data & Analytics to own how Ritual measures its business as we grow from a DTC-first brand into an omnichannel one. Ritual now reaches consumers through our own ecommerce site, Amazon, and national retail partners, and we're investing in upper-funnel media to reach new audiences. That makes leadership's questions harder: Is retail growing the brand or moving demand we already had? What is brand media actually buying? Where should the next dollar of growth capital go? You'll own those answers and bring them to our CGO, CFO, and executive team in a way that changes decisions. Reporting to our SVP, Product & Engineering, you'll lead a team of analysts and data engineers. You'll be a strategic partner to leaders across the business, working as a peer to our VP, Omnichannel Media and alongside our DTC, Wholesale, Amazon & Marketplaces, Brand, and Finance teams. You'll inherit a modern, stable data platform. Your job is to scale what it delivers, grow the people on it, and shape the team for its next stage.

What you'll do

  • Own Ritual's omnichannel measurement: Build and run a single connected view of customer value and acquisition cost across DTC, Amazon and marketplaces, and retail: LTV:CAC, payback, and contribution profit by channel. Explain how channels interact, including halo, cannibalization, and whether new distribution expands the market or shifts it.
  • Own the read on marketing investment: Partner with our VP, Omnichannel Media to plan, test, and optimize the full media budget; you own the measurement ecosystem across MMM, attribution, geo-lift, and incrementality, including what upper-funnel investment is buying in reach and household penetration.
  • Measure every channel on the same terms: Bring retail and Amazon up to the standard we hold DTC to, covering sell-in versus sell-through, distribution and velocity, promotions, syndicated and panel data, and new-to-brand customers.
  • Shape decisions at the top: Be the executive voice on business performance for our CGO, CFO, and leadership team. Own the reporting the business runs on, partner with Finance on plan, mine the insight that matters, and build the artifacts that move planning, budget, and board conversations.
  • Lead and build the team: Grow analysts into domain experts and coach them to build influential analysis and the narrative around it. Lead data engineering and own how our stack and project architecture evolve with the changing needs of the business.

Who you are

  • Executive Translator: You turn complex, multi-channel analysis into a clear recommendation a CFO can act on, and you're comfortable defending it in the room. Leaders seek out your point of view before they make the call.
  • Healthy Skeptic: You know when a number is wrong before anyone else does, and you say the inconvenient thing plainly and kindly. You'd rather surface a hard finding early than defend a comfortable one later. When priorities compete, you negotiate calmly and constructively, holding to what the data supports while staying open to what others need.
  • Omnichannel Systems Thinker: You see DTC, marketplace, and retail as one portfolio. You think in contribution profit, not channel silos, and you understand how media, distribution, and retention work together.
  • Storyteller and Teacher: You can turn a messy dataset into a sharp narrative, and you teach others to do the same. Your feedback on a draft makes the analyst better, not just the deck.
  • Focused Operator: You've led a lean data team inside a growing business with many internal customers. You check that the work ladders up to Ritual's goals, protect your team's capacity, and take on ad-hoc asks selectively instead of chasing every fire drill.
  • Listener and Team Builder: You listen as closely to your team as you do to the business, and you find the balance between what each needs. You grow analysts into leaders, and you're credible with engineers on the tradeoffs that keep a data platform trustworthy.

What you'll need

  • 8+ years in analytics, data science, or marketing measurement, starting as a practitioner analyst with strong business instincts, and including several years leading lean, technical data teams of analysts and data or analytics engineers, with credibility on pipeline, modeling, and data-quality tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on marketing measurement expertise across MMM, multi-touch attribution, incrementality testing, and geo-lift, including where each method breaks, and a track record of using it to rationalize upper-funnel spend.
  • Experience measuring marketing efficiency at a consumer brand that sells both DTC and through retail, including marketplace channels, subscription or e-commerce economics, cohort retention, and cross-channel effects.
  • Retail data experience, including POS and sell-through data, retailer data portals, syndicated and household panel data, and reconciling sell-in to consumer takeaway. CPG or health and wellness experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated executive influence and storytelling: a portfolio of analyses and executive artifacts that changed decisions at the C-suite or board level, and experience coaching analysts to produce them.
  • Deep experience with dbt and a modern data stack (Snowflake and a BI semantic layer, with Omni a plus), as a hands-on practitioner or as the manager of the engineers who own it. Amazon Marketing Cloud experience is a plus.

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every qualification listed above. We’re committed to building a diverse team and recognize that skills can be developed in many different ways.
