Full-Time | Competitive Base Salary + Performance Incentive
Reports To: Regional Vice President
THE OPPORTUNITY
RMC is looking for an exceptional General Manager / Area General Manager, depending on experience, to lead our XXXX office operation and help shape the continued growth of RMC.
For more than three decades, RMC has built its reputation differently: locally, personally, and through relationships. Our teams do not simply operate in the destinations we serve. They live there, know them, love them, and build the local relationships that allow us to create experiences others simply cannot.
This role sits at the heart of that promise. The GM/AGM will be the senior in-market leader responsible for bringing together sales, operations, people, partnerships, financial performance, and the client experience. The opportunity is to grow a remarkable destination business while protecting the local expertise, creativity, relationships, and extraordinary service that make RMC special.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for someone who believes that high performance and exceptional service are not competing priorities. The best leaders - and the best destination businesses - deliver both.
WHAT YOU'LL LEAD
Destination Leadership & Business Performance
· Own the overall performance of the office operation, including revenue growth, operational execution, profitability, service, and team performance.
· Translate RMC's company strategy into a clear local plan with measurable goals, priorities, and accountability.
· Partner with regional and executive leadership on forecasting, budgeting, margin, profitability, and business performance.
· Identify opportunities to strengthen the business, improve results, and expand RMC's presence across the destination’s luxury meetings and events market.
Sales, Growth & Relationships
· Lead and support the local sales team in building pipeline, improving conversion, growing existing relationships, and winning new business.
· Be personally engaged in the market's most important client, hotel, venue, vendor, and community relationships.
· Develop strategic partnerships that deepen RMC's local connectivity and create opportunities for clients that others cannot easily replicate.
· Represent RMC in the market and industry with professionalism, warmth, credibility, and a genuine service mindset.
Operational & Service Excellence
· Lead the local operations team in delivering exceptional programs safely, creatively, consistently, and profitably.
· Create strong alignment between sales and operations, so promises made during the sales process are delivered seamlessly in execution.
· Maintain high standards for planning, staffing, vendor management, program execution, and financial discipline.
· Stay close enough to the work to understand what clients and teams need, stepping in personally when leadership or problem-solving is required.
People, Culture & Accountability
· Coach, develop, and inspire local sales and operations leaders while building a strong leadership bench for the future.
· Create an environment where people take ownership, solve problems, collaborate, and hold themselves and one another accountable.
· Protect and strengthen RMC's relationship-first, service-driven culture as the destination grows.
· Celebrate great work, address performance gaps directly and constructively, and help talented people become even better.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a commercially minded hospitality leader who genuinely loves people, service, and the business of creating exceptional experiences. You can move comfortably from a client meeting or hotel-partner conversation to a forecast review, team coaching session, program walk-through, or difficult operational decision.
You understand the numbers and expect accountability, but you do not lead from a spreadsheet. You lead through people, relationships, clarity, trust, and presence.
You are entrepreneurial enough to grow a market, disciplined enough to operate it well, and humble enough to roll up your sleeves when your team or a client needs you. Most importantly, you understand that RMC's local relationships and reputation are earned one interaction and one program at a time.
WHAT YOU BRING
· 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in destination management, hospitality, events, luxury services, or a closely related relationship-led business.
· Demonstrated success leading sales and/or operations teams and delivering measurable business results.
· Strong commercial instincts with experience in revenue growth, forecasting, budgeting, margin management, and P&L accountability.
· Proven ability to develop people, set clear expectations, coach performance, and build high-performing teams.
· Exceptional client, hotel, venue, vendor, and partner relationship-management skills.
· Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
· A proactive, solutions-oriented leadership style with the judgment to balance client experience, team needs, and business performance.
· Comfort with Microsoft Office, CRM, cloud-based collaboration tools, and data-driven business management.
· Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and occasionally to other RMC destinations, company meetings, and industry events.
· Residence in destination or within a reasonable daily commuting distance is required. This is an on-site leadership role.
LEVEL & SCOPE
The role may be appointed at the General Manager or Area General Manager level based on the selected candidate's experience, leadership scope, market expertise, and demonstrated ability to take on broader regional responsibility. The title and final scope will be determined as part of the selection process.
COMPENSATION & PERFORMANCE
RMC offers a competitive compensation package designed to reward both leadership impact and business performance. The selected candidate will receive a competitive base salary commensurate with experience and role level, together with participation in a performance-based incentive plan and RMC's applicable benefits package.
WHY RMC
RMC has spent more than three decades building something difficult to replicate: a national organization powered by deeply local teams, trusted relationships, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to service.
For the right leader, RMC offers the opportunity to build something meaningful in the country's most dynamic luxury hospitality markets - leading talented people, strengthening extraordinary local partnerships, growing the business, and helping define the RMC experience.
We are looking for someone who wants more than their next management position. We are looking for a leader who wants to become part of a community, build lasting relationships, develop exceptional people, and help shape the next chapter of RMC.
