SENIOR FINANCIAL SYSTEMS ANALYST

About The Role:

Scentbird is hiring a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to support the people and processes that run on our financial systems. This role sits within the Technology department and reports to the Director of Enterprise Systems.

You’ll be the connection between the Finance and Accounting teams who work in NetSuite every day and the technology team - our internal administration team, our managed services partner, and our in-house developers. While not the primary NetSuite administrator, you will be part of the administration team. You’ll be the person who understands the business processes deeply enough to define what needs to change, drive the work to the right team, validate the result, and make sure the people using the system can do their jobs.

Scentbird is becoming an AI-first company and is already ahead of most of our peers in putting AI to work. This role is part of that. We expect AI fluency and a proactive mindset to continuously apply AI to automate manual finance processes.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Business process and analysis
    • Serve as the functional expert for financial processes in NetSuite - record-to-report, procure-to-pay, revenue recognition, and inventory and cost accounting.
    • Gather and challenge requirements from Finance and Accounting, then translate them into functional specifications with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
    • Document current-state processes and identify automation opportunities that shorten the close and remove manual work.
    • Own user acceptance testing - build test plans, coordinate business testing, and sign off before changes reach production.
  • AI and intelligent automation
    • Identify and deliver AI-driven improvements across financial processes - document capture and coding, anomaly detection, reconciliation assistance, and close acceleration.
    • Evaluate and adopt NetSuite’s native AI capabilities - Text Enhance, Bill Capture, intelligent forecasting, and analytics assistants - and make the case for where they earn their place.
    • Use AI in your own daily work - analysis, documentation, drafting saved searches and specifications, generating test cases, and troubleshooting.
    • Partner with technology leadership on the guardrails for AI against financial data - accuracy validation, audit traceability, and data handling.
  • Coordination and delivery
    • In partnership with the technology management team, route and prioritize work with our managed services partner, NetSuite ACS, and in-house developers. Assist with development and management of interfaces with external platforms and in-house custom systems.
    • Manage the financial systems request queue - intake, triage, prioritization, and status communication back to Finance.
    • Hold our managed services partner accountable to scope, quality, and timelines; review statements of work and validate deliverables.
    • Perform configuration, saved searches, reports, dashboards, and minor field or form changes.
    • Assess NetSuite’s semiannual releases for business impact and coordinate regression testing with Finance and Accounting.
  • User support and enablement
    • Act as the first point of contact for financial system users - triage issues, resolve what you can, and escalate when more complex solutions are required.
    • Write and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and training materials; run onboarding and refresher sessions for the finance organization.
    • Track recurring issues and convert them into permanent fixes rather than repeat tickets.
  • Reporting and data
    • Build and maintain saved searches, SuiteAnalytics workbooks, and financial reports that give Finance and leadership a reliable, self-service view of the business.
    • Monitor integrations between NetSuite and our ecommerce and subscription platform, payment processors, 3PL and warehouse systems, banks, tax engines, and the data warehouse - surface breaks early and drive them to resolution.
    • Support bulk data operations - imports, mass updates, and cleanups - with the reconciliations that prove they landed correctly.
    • Support internal and external audit requests, ITGC and application control testing, and related evidence gathering.
  • Projects and roadmap
    • Represent Technology on financial systems initiatives - module rollouts, new brand and subsidiary onboarding, chart of accounts changes, and evaluations of new applications.
    • Contribute to the multi-year financial systems roadmap alongside Finance and technology leadership, balancing quick wins against structural improvements.

What We’ll Love About You:

  • You bridge the gap and are bilingual. You can hold deep finance and accounting discussions with those teams and translate that into technical language, and either implement those solutions or explain requirements to development partners. You can explain a technical constraint to a non-technical stakeholder without jargon or condescension.
  • You get things done. You can drive your own work and also partner with internal team members and outside partners without formal authority over either.
  • You’re a relentless troubleshooter. You pull the thread until you find the actual root cause, and you’re not satisfied with a workaround that quietly becomes permanent.
  • You prefer the simple solution. You’d rather configure than script, and script than integrate - because someone will be maintaining it in three years.
  • You’re calm during close. You understand that close is a critical period, not a time to experiment, and you plan around it.
  • You document by instinct. You leave things better explained than you found them.
  • You’re curious about the business, not just the system. You want to know why a subscription order behaves the way it does, not only where the record lives.

What You’ll Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a financial systems, ERP analyst, or systems accountant role; 10+ years strongly preferred.
  • Expert-level NetSuite skills (required). Deep functional command of the financial modules, plus hands-on fluency with saved searches, reports and dashboards, custom records and fields, SuiteFlow, and SuiteAnalytics. NetSuite certification is a plus.
  • Strong command of core accounting: general ledger and chart of accounts, AP and AR, subledgers, accruals, allocations, month-end and year-end close, and deferred revenue.
  • Familiarity with financial controls, audit support, ITGCs, and segregation of duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Additional ERP and financial systems experience is highly desired: Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle Fusion, Workday Financials, Microsoft Dynamics, or comparable platforms, plus adjacent tools such as Coupa, BILL, Avalara or Vertex, Ramp, Brex, Expensify, FloQast, or BlackLine.
  • Familiarity with integration and iPaaS platforms - Celigo, Boomi, Workato, or custom REST integrations - and comfort reasoning about data flows across systems.
  • Experience working with external implementation or managed services partners and managing their deliverables.
  • SQL and advanced spreadsheet skills for analysis, reconciliation, and validation.
  • Experience in ecommerce, DTC, subscription billing, and consumer products is a strong plus.
  • You reach for AI first. It’s your default when you’re facing a blank page, a messy dataset, or an unfamiliar error - and you’re just as good at knowing when its answer needs checking. On financial data, you verify before you trust.

About the Brands:

  • Scentbird: The easiest way for fragrance lovers to discover, try, and buy their favorite scented products without a commitment

Composed entirely of vegan, cruelty-free ingredients, our fragrances bridge the gap between the clean and luxury categories, using the highest eau de parfum concentrations housed in sculptural, eye-catching bottles. You shouldn’t have to choose between being luxe and refined, or clean and vegan—now, you don’t have to.
  • Confessions Of A Rebel: We were born in 2018, holding fast to the idea that the fragrance industry was in dire need of a change. When we looked around, all we saw was a sea of sameness: outdated archetypes of femininity and masculinity paired with unrelatable images of luxury that we had no say in. In truth, we are complex in ways that cannot be contained in the traditional heteronormative stereotypes, existing beyond the binary with raw, unfiltered voices that deserve to be heard.
  • Goodhabit: Enriched with a blend of essential oils, Goodhabit’s clean, vegan, cruelty-free fragrances act as bottled intentions you set free with each mist. Our scents are designed to help you align with the good habits you’re building, while working to enhance and boost your mood. Inhale, exhale, and let the good energy flow through you.
  • Sanctuary: Created for those who care about the fate of our planets, Sanctuary offers fragrance for a better future. Our clean, community-driven fragrances are inspired by endangered species and their habitats, each aimed at raising money and awareness for the preservation of their namesake.
  • Drift: Drift began as an alternative to all of the tacky air care products on the market. Our products are designed to blend in, with amazing scents that stand out. We take pride in our fragrances, keeping them free from the traditional chemicals used in the fragrance industry. We are always phthalate and paraben free. We never skimp on quality of our scents or the products that deliver them. Our design ethos is simple but effective. We love our community, those who won’t settle for ordinary, and we want to deliver a best in class experience.

Scentbird is committed to bringing individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives into the Nest. We strive to uphold an inclusive environment where individuals of all different backgrounds, ages, colors, ethnicities, gender, or gender identities, genetics, physical or mental abilities, protected veteran status, race, religious or sexual orientation, thrive. We respect the laws enforced by the EEOC and are dedicated internally to going above and beyond in fostering diversity. Come as you are - we’re excited to meet you.
