Engineering Project Manager

Position Responsibilities:


Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Project Manager to lead complex industrial equipment projects from contract award through engineering, design, fabrication, and final delivery. Projects range from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dollars, with typical timelines of one to three years. This position requires a technically strong leader who can manage multidisciplinary engineering teams, maintain financial and schedule accountability, and work closely with customers to successfully integrate advanced equipment into their operations.


  • Lead all phases of project execution, including engineering, design, procurement, fabrication, and project closeout.
  • Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure technical deliverables meet project specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Manage project financials, including budgeting, cost forecasting, scheduling, change management, and performance reporting.
  • Oversee procurement activities, vendor selection, material requirements, and fabrication schedules.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact, managing contractual requirements, technical expectations, and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project controls, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and maintain project progress.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring accountability for execution, cost, and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Support proposal development, contract reviews, and project planning activities.

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of hands-on project management experience within industrial engineering, manufacturing, or engineered equipment environments.
  • Strong understanding of the complete engineering lifecycle, including Pre-FEED, FEED, detailed engineering, design, and fabrication.
  • Technical background involving cryogenic systems, rotating equipment, heat transfer equipment, gas processing, or comparable engineered equipment.
  • Solid understanding of engineering design and modeling, with the ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Proven experience managing large capital projects, including budgets, schedules, procurement, fabrication, and engineering deliverables.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills, particularly with complex equipment installations or new technology integration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining execution accountability.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with industrial equipment installation, commissioning, or startup activities.
  • Background managing large capital equipment projects involving multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Experience introducing new technologies or integrating specialized equipment into existing industrial operations.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and familiarity with applicable industry codes, including ASME, B31, AISC, ASTM, AWS, and OSHA.
