Technical Marketing Specialist (AI & Digital Marketing) – Part Time

SeqMatic is a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and omics services provider based in the San Francisco South Bay Area. The company was founded in 2012 by former Illumina R&D scientists who are experts in NGS workflows and related bioinformatics.

 

We specialize in short and long read NGS platforms, bulk DNA/RNA-seq, Single-cell RNA, epigenetics, spatial transcriptomics, histopathology, as well as custom sequencing services with fast turnaround times. Our lab is CLIA licensed / CAP accredited to support both RUO and clinical omics sequencing.

Position Overview

SeqMatic is seeking a highly motivated Technical Marketing Specialist to drive digital growth, scientific content strategy, and AI-powered marketing initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of life science expertise, digital marketing, and emerging AI technologies.

You will be responsible for developing technical content, executing digital campaigns, optimizing SEO and lead generation efforts, leveraging AI tools to improve marketing efficiency, and supporting business development initiatives. The ideal candidate combines a strong scientific foundation with modern marketing capabilities and a passion for data-driven growth.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of marketing within a rapidly growing genomics company.


Based in Fremont CA, the company works in office 5 days a week and would prefer a candidate that can come in each day.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Content & Thought Leadership

  • Develop compelling scientific and technical content including:
    • Website content
    • Application notes
    • Case studies
    • White papers
    • Blog articles
    • Social Media posts
    • Customer success stories
    • Webinar and presentation materials
    • Email campaigns
  • Translate complex genomics, bioinformatics, and multi-omics workflows into clear, customer-focused messaging.
  • Collaborate with scientists and sales teams to create content that supports lead generation and customer engagement.

AI-Driven Marketing Initiatives

  • Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate content development, campaign optimization, SEO research, competitive analysis, and customer insights.
  • Identify and implement new AI applications that improve marketing productivity and effectiveness.
  • Develop workflows that integrate generative AI into content creation, personalization, marketing automation, and analytics.
  • Evaluate emerging AI marketing technologies and recommend best practices for adoption.

Digital Marketing & Growth

  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across search, email, social media, webinars, and industry platforms.
  • Manage and optimize SEO strategy to improve search rankings, website traffic, and inbound lead generation.
  • Create and maintain landing pages and conversion-focused marketing assets.
  • Support marketing automation workflows and lead nurturing programs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuously optimize campaign performance.

Analytics & Revenue Marketing

  • Analyze website, campaign, and funnel performance using marketing analytics tools.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that measure marketing effectiveness and business impact.
  • Partner with sales and business development teams to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and customer acquisition.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform marketing strategy and resource allocation.

Product & Service Marketing

  • Support positioning and messaging for SeqMatic's genomics, bioinformatics, clinical laboratory, and multi-omics service offerings.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and market research.
  • Assist with development of customer-facing collateral.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in genomics, biotechnology, AI, and precision medicine.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical marketing, scientific marketing, product marketing, or digital marketing.
  • Strong and proven understanding of genomics, NGS, molecular biology or bioinformatics.
  • Experience developing scientific or technical content in the biotechnology market.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, AEO, digital marketing, content marketing, and marketing analytics.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and time management abilities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a life science discipline.
  • Experience working in genomics services, CROs, biotech, diagnostics, or life science tools companies.
  • Hands-on experience using AI platforms and tools for marketing, content generation, analytics, automation, or customer engagement.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, WordPress, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with single-cell sequencing, spatial biology, transcriptomics, multi-omics, or precision medicine applications.

Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will:

  • Increase qualified inbound lead generation.
  • Improve organic search visibility and website traffic.
  • Establish scalable AI-assisted content and campaign workflows.
  • Launch high-performing scientific marketing campaigns.
  • Expand SeqMatic's digital presence and thought leadership within the genomics and biotechnology communities.
  • Generate measurable pipeline contribution and marketing-attributed revenue growth.
