Product Intern

ABOUT STUDYFETCH

StudyFetch is a technology company building AI-native learning products: StudyFetch for students and Honen for workforce training. Together, they connect education with real-world readiness across every stage of learning.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a product intern to work closely with our product team on research, data analysis, and rapid prototyping. This is a hands-on, direction-heavy role: you'll be told what to focus on, but you'll be expected to move fast and bring things to life yourself rather than waiting for a fully scoped brief.

You'll spend your time talking to customers, digging into usage data, and turning ideas into clickable prototypes you can put in front of real users. This is not a research-only or spec-writing role. We want someone who builds.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Research and discovery

  • Talk to customers directly: interviews, watching them use the product, synthesizing what you hear into clear patterns
  • Identify and frame problems before jumping to solutions
  • Turn findings into short, sharable synthesis notes

Data analysis

  • Pull and interpret your own cuts of product usage data: funnels, cohorts, retention views
  • Analyze product usage to help the team make data-driven decisions, not just report numbers
  • Use data to check whether what you're hearing in interviews shows up in actual usage, or if it's a vocal-minority thing
  • Learn what our core events and properties actually mean, not just how to click around a dashboard

Rapid prototyping

  • Wireframe ideas quickly and roughly (Figma, Excalidraw, whatever gets you moving fastest)
  • Vibe code a working prototype yourself, enough fidelity to put in front of a customer and watch what they do
  • Run usability tests on what you build, synthesize what worked and what didn't
  • Feed findings back into the next iteration or into a real spec for engineering
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and design to define and refine requirements as an idea moves from prototype toward something real

You'll move through this as a loop, not a checklist: talk to customers, check the data, build something, test it, repeat.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The single most important thing: you've built something and brought it to life, on your own, because you wanted to. Maybe that meant vibe coding it, maybe it didn't, the tool matters less than the instinct. A side project, a tool for your friend group, something for a club. We care less about how polished it was and more that you didn't wait for permission or a tutorial to finish before you started.

  • You're comfortable talking to strangers. You can run a real conversation, ask good follow-up questions, and actually listen instead of reading from a script
  • You're curious with data. You don't need to know SQL, but you should be the type to open a report and notice something worth asking about
  • You can wireframe fast and ugly. You think in flows first, polish later (or never, if it's just to test an idea)
  • You have a bias to action. Your default is “let me just try it,” not “let me ask what the plan is.”

No specific degree or major required. We care about the traits above more than credentials.
