About the Role

Lead the effort in the design, development, and maintenance of our platform and related services.  Review code, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards and guidelines. Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing to the overall technical vision and direction of the team. Build and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability. Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and security of our platform. Address technical debt, refactoring code as necessary, and driving improvements in the team's software development processes and practices. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in development, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.


Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain backend java service independently using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS
  • Developing backend data storage system design.
  • Building and maintaining unit tests and integration tests and engaging with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Supporting good SDLC practices, expertise in using version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Triaging and patching backend service issues
  • Using microservices, event-driven architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Proficiency in Java and strong working experience with Python.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and delivering RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Strong experience with ETL processes, data integration, and data pipeline development.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Experience managing software projects in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, secure coding practices, and production operations.
  • Experience with system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident management, and maintaining highly available production environments.
  • Ability to independently manage projects, including requirement gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and client communication.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, client-facing, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience managing full-stack teams (frontend + backend) preferred.
  • Background in fintech, enterprise SaaS, or other regulated technology environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure preferred.
