Vice President of Product

The Opportunity: Join TopDog Law and Build Something Meaningful

This role is an opportunity to:

  • Join a rapidly growing national firm at a formative stage
  • Make a visible, measurable impact on a rapidly growing business
  • Grow your skills, responsibility, and influence as the firm scales
  • Work alongside high-caliber, mission-driven teammates who care deeply about doing great work

We are looking for people who don’t just want a job, they want purpose and impact.

THE MISSION

TopDog Law exists to help people when they need it most. Our clients come to us overwhelmed, frustrated, and uncertain about what comes next. They’ve been injured through no fault of their own and are facing insurance companies with every incentive to pay them as little as possible.

We listen with empathy, advocate relentlessly, and connect people with the resources and legal representation they need to recover and move forward. Our goal is simple: to stand up for our clients, secure the compensation they deserve, and help them reclaim their lives after an accident.

That mission is at the heart of everything we do and drives everything we build.

THE OPPORTUNITY

TopDog Law is the fastest growing personal injury firm in the country. We’re building a modern platform to power every layer of how our firm operates and we’re looking for a VP of Product who can lead that charge.

This is a player-coach role. You’ll own the product execution through a team of Technical Product Managers, and still get your hands dirty. You’ll report to senior leadership and work closely with our engineering org to deliver the systems that make national growth possible.

The platform we’re building is a custom AI-enabled Intake engine to replace Salesforce, a modern case management system to replace Filevine, and a client-facing portal for case status, messaging, and document sharing, etc. This is a greenfield opportunity to architect systems from the ground up.

This role is for someone who thrives in a high-ownership environment, makes fast decisions with imperfect data, and cares deeply about building products people love to use.

HOW THIS ROLE DRIVES THE BUSINESS

  • Drives the build of a custom AI-enabled CRM that automates manual intake work and increases lead conversion
  • Oversees the development of a client-facing portal that improves the client experience and reduces inbound service calls
  • Manages the full migration away from Salesforce and Filevine into purpose-built, integrated internal tools
  • Coaches and develops a team of Technical PMs to ship fast, build well, and stay aligned to firm goals
  • Bridges the gap between product direction and engineering execution, keeping both sides moving in sync

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead a Product Team

  • Directly manage up to 5 Technical Product Managers across multiple product lines
  • Support the growth and success of TPMs by providing coaching and guidance that enables high-quality execution.

Support the Roadmap

  • Help drive quarterly roadmap planning in partnership with the executive team
  • Make fast, defensible tradeoff decisions without waiting for perfect data
  • Ensure every initiative has a clear definition of done and a path to adoption

Stay in the Work

  • Lead by example. Prototype and deliver work alongside your team for the most important feature sets.
  • Maintain strong product intuition and UX taste in the absence of a dedicated design team
  • Review and sharpen the work your TPMs produce, raising the bar across the board

Drive AI-Enabled Product Development

  • Bring prior experience building AI-powered products and tools
  • Champion AI integration across the product suite, from automated intake to intelligent case workflows
  • Stay current on the AI tooling landscape and bring new capabilities to the table

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years in product management, with at least 2 years in a product leadership role managing other PMs
  • Proven track record shipping AI-powered or AI-integrated products
  • Strong product intuition and eye for UX
  • Experience driving large-scale platform migrations or greenfield builds
  • Able to move fast and make decisions without perfect data
  • No-ego, team-first leader who makes the people around them better
  • Bias toward building, not just planning

WHO THRIVES HERE

We hire for competence, character, and mindset. You'll thrive at TopDog Law if you:

EMBRACE CHANGE

You have a growth mindset and seek continuous improvement. You welcome feedback, adapt quickly, and ask 'What's next?' rather than 'That's not my job.'

ARE COMMITTED TO THE ORGANIZATION

You care deeply about doing great work. You have your teammates' backs and you're here to build something meaningful and long-lasting.

BRING AN UPBEAT, NO-EGO ENERGY

You show up positive, professional, and solutions-oriented. You enjoy the work, respect the people around you, and leave drama and ego at the door.

TAKE OWNERSHIP

You do what you say you'll do. You follow through and communicate early when something is off track. You treat the business like it's yours.

FAST AND HUNGRY

You move with urgency and sound judgment. You prioritize progress over perfection, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are motivated by growth and impact.

THE GROWTH

TopDog Law is one of the fastest-growing personal injury law firms in the United States and was recognized as #149 on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

TopDog already has one of the most powerful lead generation machines in the PI industry, more inbound demand than most firms could dream of. The constraint isn’t leads. It’s scale.

Right now, we retain roughly 20% of the volume our marketing generates. The goal is 80%. The gap between those two numbers represents hundreds of millions of dollars and closing it is a product and operations problem.

The VP of Product we hire will build the platform that makes this growth trajectory possible.
