People Operations Generalist (Guatemala)

Our Story

TopDog Law is not your typical law firm. We're a nationally scaling personal injury firm built for impact and growth — owning the client experience end-to-end, from marketing and intake through litigation. We believe that world-class marketing, paired with exceptional legal talent and operations, creates better experiences and outcomes for clients and the business alike.

Over the past three years, we've grown 2–3x year over year, setting a new standard on the marketing side of the personal injury space and proving what's possible when strategy, speed, and execution align. Now we're applying that same discipline and innovation to firm operations, case management, and national scale — intentionally building the infrastructure, systems, and teams to grow without sacrificing quality, culture, or accountability.

We are a fully remote team that share trust, open communication, and a commitment to doing great work. If you love ownership, thrive in a fast-moving environment, and want to help build something exceptional, you'll feel right at home here.

The Opportunity

As we scale nationally, our People Operations function has to scale right alongside us —

accurately, compliantly, and without losing the personal touch that makes TopDog Law a great

place to work. We're looking for a People Operations Generalist in Guatemala to be the

on-the-ground owner of our people experience here: Employee lifecycle administration,

employee relations, and policy compliance under Guatemala labor law, with payroll serving as a

secondary, backup responsibility rather than the core of the role.

This isn't a maintain-the-status-quo role. You'll be joining at a moment where processes are still

being built, which means your judgment, attention to detail, and ideas will directly shape how we

support every employee across every state we operate in Guatemala, in full alignment with the

Ministerio de Trabajo y Prevision Social. If you're passionate about payroll done right, energized

by staying ahead of changing labor regulations, and excited to grow with a company that's

moving fast , we want to talk to you.

What You Will Own

● Employee lifecycle administration - Onboarding, labor contracts, off boardings,

timecards for our Guatemala Team.

● Employee relations, acting as a trusted, responsive point of contact for employees on

policy, benefits, and workplace questions.

● Full compliance with the Guatemala Labor Code across hiring, working hours,

termination and pay practices.

● Administration of legally mandated benefits (e.g, Aguinaldo, Bono 14, IGSS, vacation).

● Maintaining personnel files and records per Guatemalan statutory requirements

● Partner cross-functionally and serve as a bridge between U.S. and Guatemala People

Operations, ensuring alignment, consistency, and effective collaboration across teams and

locations.

● Experience with onboarding, hiring and policies compliance

● Process improvement, identify gaps and build scalable systems as the company grows.

● Serving as secondary/backup payroll administrator, helping ensure payroll runs

accurately, on time, and in full compliance each cycle

● Support culture initiatives that contribute to making TDL a great place to work, while

helping strengthen employee engagement and connection across the organization.

● Develop and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, team events, and internal

communications that strengthen connection, collaboration, and a positive workplace

culture

What You Bring

Required:

● Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources / People Operations, ideally in a

fast-paced or scaling organization, with some exposure to payroll.

● Strong working knowledge of the Guatemala Labor Code and Ministerio de Trabajo

compliance requirements.

● Ensure full compliance with Guatemala Labor Code across hiring, working hours,

working conditions, terminations and payroll.

● Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish, written and verbal.

● A detail-oriented, highly organized approach.

● Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee data.

● Genuine passion for people operations and eagerness to grow alongside a fast-growing

company.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

● Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment or start-up environment.

● Completed coursework in Business Administration or a related field.
