Senior M365 Administrator

Position Overview:

The Microsoft 365 Administrator will serve as a key technical resource responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID. This role combines hands‑on system administration with advanced troubleshooting, user support, and cross‑department collaboration to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient digital operations. The ideal candidate will lead SharePoint site design, automate workflows, administer Intune and endpoint policies, and partner closely with both internal teams and a managed services provider to maintain smooth IT operations. In addition to Tier 2/3 support, this position plays a critical role in enhancing productivity, strengthening security posture, and driving continuous improvement across the organization’s technology ecosystem.

 

Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Administration
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Assist in configuring security policies, conditional access, and compliance settings within Microsoft 365
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve Microsoft 365 service and user access issues
  • Administer Intune for device management and policy enforcement
  • Assist with licensing and user provisioning within Microsoft 365
SharePoint Administration & Optimization
  • Design, implement, and maintain SharePoint Online sites and document libraries
  • Manage SharePoint permissions, workflows, and security settings
  • Partner with stakeholders to enhance SharePoint functionality, usability, and adoption
  • Provide end-user training and documentation for SharePoint solutions
  • Collaborate with departments to automate manual tasks and improve operational efficiency
IT Support & Operational Coordination
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for end users, resolving escalated technical issues
  • Assist with desktop support, including Windows OS, Microsoft Office applications, and hardware troubleshooting
  • Review the MSP’s weekly inventory report
  • Partner with the third-party managed services help desk to support smooth IT operations
  • Coordinate and maintain onboarding for offshore contractors
Documentation, Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain IT documentation, including knowledge base articles and system configurations
  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives as needed


Required Traits, Expertise, and Skills
Education & Experience
  • 6+ years of experience as a Microsoft 365 Administrator, Systems Administrator, or in a similar role
  • Experience providing desktop support and working with a managed services provider
Technical / Functional Expertise
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, including SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI
  • Familiarity with Intune and endpoint management
  • Understanding of security best practices, compliance policies, and Microsoft Defender solutions
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
  • Experience with identity and access management (IAM) and single sign-on (SSO) technologies
  • Experience with ShareGate
  • Experience with RMM tools
Core Skills & Competencies
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex IT issues
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with strong follow-through and the ability to close the loop
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently


Expected Salary Range: $125,000 to $135,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
