We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative team in Walnut Creek. You’ll use your practical skills to support compassionate patient care, work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs, and continue developing in a busy, full-service general practice.

Your Role

Working under the direction of our veterinarians and RVTs, and within your training and assigned responsibilities, you will:

  • Provide compassionate patient care and assist with examinations, treatments and procedures.
  • Prepare patients, equipment and clinical areas for surgery and other procedures.
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery as directed.
  • Use safe, gentle restraint and support clinical tasks, including IV catheter placement and administering prescribed injections.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients, support their comfort and communicate concerns promptly.
  • Assist with radiography, laboratory diagnostics and other in-house procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized and well-stocked treatment and surgical areas.
  • Help the team prioritize tasks and deliver consistent care during busy clinical days.

The Right Fit:

  • At least three years of Veterinary Assistant experience.
  • Confidence supporting patient care, clinical procedures and safe handling in a busy hospital.
  • Strong communication skills and an approach grounded in honesty, compassion, respect and accountability.
  • A positive, client-focused attitude and willingness to learn.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, maintain attention to detail and raise concerns when needed.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working with an experienced veterinary team.
  • Availability for the advertised Monday–Friday schedule.
