Job Purpose

VulcanForms is hiring a VP, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) to own and scale our safety and environmental programs across our organization. We are at an inflection point of growth; this role is critical as we build out new facilities and hire rapidly across our teams, ensuring safety remains a critical top priority. This role is about taking a strong existing foundation and scaling it — standardizing what works, modernizing how it’s managed, and building the systems and team to deploy it consistently as we grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior EHS authority for the organization, owning strategy, standards, and culture across all current sites with accountability for scaling the program nationally as we grow
  • Architect, incentivize, and govern a company-wide Near Miss Program, leveraging shop-floor data to eliminate hazards proactively; oversee corporate framework for incident investigations, root-cause closure, and Workers' Compensation management in partnership with HR and Legal
  • Assess the current EHS program across all sites, identify gaps, and build a unified set of standards, protocols, and repeatable deployment frameworks so every new site launches with the same baseline
  • Drive a continuous improvement loop for safety SOPs, standardizing safety-critical work instructions and operational procedures across all facilities
  • Lead workforce safety readiness for new sites — hazard assessments, emergency response planning, and initial training ramp - and architect ongoing training programs for a growing and evolving workforce
  • Build a safety culture that goes beyond compliance, where frontline workers are engaged, incidents are reported early, and near-miss data drives change
  • Assess, select, and implement modern EHS technology - including EHS management platforms, IoT-enabled monitoring, predictive analytics, and AI-assisted risk identification — replacing manual processes with real-time digital workflows
  • Own EHS KPIs and reporting cadence for senior leadership; use data to proactively identify risk trends and make the business case for continued investment
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, HR, and Legal to embed EHS thinking into every stage of the business
  • Ensure consistent compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations across jurisdictions; serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 7 years in a senior or executive leadership role in industrial or heavy manufacturing;  advanced degree or MBA a plus
  • Proven track record managing EHS across multiple facilities simultaneously, including leading programs through significant growth - new site buildouts, rapid headcount scaling, and geographic expansion
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA frameworks, EPA environmental guidelines, and multi-jurisdictional compliance
  • Hands-on experience implementing EHS technology, digital transformation initiatives, or data-driven safety programs, including automated monitoring and real-time compliance reporting platforms
  • A systems thinker and proactive problem solver - you don't solve the same problem twice, you build the process that prevents it from recurring
  • CSP or CIH preferred; CHMM a plus

VulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VulcanForms provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; generous paid time off; and a 401(k) plan with company match.

The annual base salary range for this position is $230,000 to $287,800.
