Summary:

We’re looking for a Technical Product Owner to join our Architecture team. The successful candidate will own the product backlog and delivery roadmap for WHG’s core platform architecture, driving the design, evolution, and optimisation of foundational platform capabilities - including API design, system integrations, platform scalability, and cross-cutting technical enablers. The candidate will translate complex architectural needs into clear, actionable product work. The TPO will report to the Architecture Product Manager and will be responsible for continuously improving WHG’s core platform capabilities across our B2B customer base.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background - ideally in backend platform engineering or systems architecture - with proven experience translating technical complexity into structured product delivery. They will be comfortable working directly with engineers, challenging architectural trade-offs, and maintaining a backlog that balances long-term platform health with near-term delivery commitments.

This role is fully remote and reports to the Product Manager.

Your day to day:

  • Execute the product vision and roadmap, covering core platform capabilities, API design, system integrations, and architectural enablers across our B2B customer base. Align roadmap priorities with engineering capacity, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in triaging complex technical issues or integration bugs that arise between the core platform and third-party integrations.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager, Technical Architects and Lead Developers to define and evolve the architecture of the WHG PAM platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability as the platform grows.
  • Write clear and actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation for the development team.
  • Work closely with developers and the Product Manager to ensure delivery of high-quality features.

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or similar in the iGaming back-end services area.
  • Technical background and ability to understand APIs, data flows, and integrations.
  • Experience in managing highly technical backlogs, including technical debt, architectural enablers, and API versioning using agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams and managing dependencies between platform, product, compliance, and operations stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into clear product requirements and executive-level communications.
  • Understanding of user segmentation, bonus mechanics, and player lifecycle strategies.

Nice to have:

  • Experience contributing to or reviewing system design and architecture documentation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements across iGaming jurisdictions (e.g., UKGC, MGA, GLI, US state-level regulations).

How we approach things:

  • Dynamic Medium-Sized Environment: We have a can-do ethos, where innovation is encouraged, and action is valued.
  • Core Values at Heart: We live by Teamwork, Innovation, Trust, and Integrity in everything we do.
  • Results-Oriented Focus: We prioritise getting things done while supporting each other to reach both collective and individual goals.
  • Open Collaboration: Our open-door policy fosters collaboration across all levels and departments, where ideas flow freely.
  • Global Team: We are truly a global team with people from various countries and cultures contributing to our success.

 What we offer:

  • A remote and flexible working schedule.
  • Generous time off varied based on the country of residence.
  • Discretionary annual performance bonus
  • Training and other learning & development opportunities to support you through your career progression.
  • Hardware & Software allowance or work equipment is provided to make sure you have all the right tools to get the job done.
  • Various well-being programmes and initiatives.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, gender, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age.

By submitting your application, you agree that we process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy for the management of your candidature to any of the positions we offer.
