About the role

We're looking for a detail-obsessed Data Annotator to join our AI/Data team in-house. You'll be responsible for enriching merchant data and manually extracting information from documents such as invoices, bills, AI conversation logs, and KYC documents. Your work will directly feed into evaluating and improving the accuracy of our existing AI systems and fine-tuning our models - making this a high-impact, foundational role for our AI product quality.

What you'll do

• Merchant Enrichment: Research, verify, and enrich merchant records (category, name logo) to maintain a clean and accurate merchant database.
• Document Extraction: Manually review and extract structured data from:
• • Invoices and bills
  • AI conversation transcripts/logs
  • KYC (Know Your Customer) documents
• AI Accuracy Evaluation: Compare AI-generated outputs against manually annotated ground truth to identify errors, edge cases, and patterns of failure.
• Model Fine-Tuning Support: Build and maintain high-quality labeled datasets used to fine-tune and retrain our AI/ML models.
• Quality & Consistency: Follow (and help refine) annotation guidelines to ensure consistency, accuracy, and speed across large volumes of data.
• Reporting: Track annotation progress, flag recurring data quality issues, and share insights with the AI/product team.

What we are looking for

• Exceptional eye for detail - you catch inconsistencies and errors that others miss.
• Experience working with fintech data (invoices, billing data, KYC/compliance documents, or similar financial/transactional data).
• Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning/validation).
• Basic knowledge of MySQL - comfortable writing simple queries to pull, filter, or check data.
• Basic knowledge of Python - comfortable with simple scripts for data handling (not a coding-heavy role, but scripting familiarity is a plus).
• Strong written communication and ability to document edge cases clearly.
• Comfortable with repetitive, high-precision work at volume without losing accuracy.
• Prior experience in data annotation, data labelling or data entry is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts (labelling for model training, RLHF, evaluation datasets).
• Experience with annotation tools or internal QA tooling.
