About the role:


BlueWave has an opening for a fall co-op on the Grid Integration team. This position will be responsible for assisting with interconnection activities for solar and storage projects across multiple states. The primary focus will be working with our analysts to create and manage utility interconnection applications, estimating interconnection upgrade costs, and collaborating with the Project Development & Site Acquisition teams. Daily activities will include but not be limited to project support but also strategic research and analysis on technical and policy related topics. Attention to detail and thoroughness are critical for being successful in this position.


What you'll do:
  • Create, track, and manage interconnection applications for various projects
  • Participate in negotiations with utilities on interconnection related topics, including scope, timeline, and costs
  • Manage utilities customer portal system daily
  • Maintain latest project information in BlueWave’s Salesforce trackers
  • Review and draft site plans for solar and storage systems for interconnection purposes
  • Coordinate with electrical consultants and in-house engineers on electrical system design
  • Research utility infrastructure to inform projects
  • Assist Site Acquisition and Development teams on interconnection strategy
  • Coordinate with internal teams and processes for making payments
  • Maintain frequent communication (formal and informal) with various utility personnel across the chain that impact BlueWave projects.


Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical preferred), Environmental Studies, or similar.
  • Fluency with Microsoft product suite
  • Familiarity with Salesforce a plus
  • Interpersonal skills, team player
  • Ability to juggle many projects at once and manage deadlines
  • Detail oriented, organized
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills (Excel)
  • Knowledge of or interest in utility infrastructure is a plus
  • Understanding of solar and storage project single line diagrams and layouts is a plus
  • Interest in state policy, incentives and tariff implications on solar and storage projects


The anticipated hourly wage for this role is $24 per hour.
