Alongside Bowden Development and Bowden Contractors, Bowden Living delivers best-in-class residential experiences across the Southeast and beyond. We are a company grounded in integrity, driven by innovation, and committed to the people we serve — both residents and associates.

About the role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, dependable Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will work closely with our Accounting Director to support both property-level and corporate accounting functions.

You’ll have hands-on responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, and month-end close. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into the details, solving discrepancies, and ensuring the numbers are right.

What you'll do

  • Process vendor invoices, including GL coding, property allocation, approvals, and weekly payment processing.
  • Assist with accounts receivable, resident accounting, delinquency reporting, and security deposit accounting.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortizations, and other recurring entries.
  • Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and research discrepancies.
  • Support the month-end close and preparation of property-level financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with audit, tax, and year-end reporting needs.
  • Work with Entrata, Rippling, and other accounting systems and integrations.
  • Help onboard new communities into Bowden Living’s accounting platform.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows.
  • Support special projects and financial analysis as the company continues to grow.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; or an Associate’s degree with 2+ years of directly relevant accounting experience.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience with exposure to AP, AR, and general ledger functions.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliation schedules.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Even Better If You Have

  • Multifamily or property management accounting experience.
  • Experience with Entrata or a similar property management platform.
  • Experience with Rippling or another payroll/GL integration.
  • Trust account or security deposit accounting experience.
  • Interest in pursuing your CPA or continuing your professional accounting development.
