Clean Energy Services (CES) was founded on four core values: Safety, Quality, Trust, and Efficiency.
We are looking for motivated individuals who want to grow with our company and contribute to our culture of excellence. Because CES supports projects across multiple regions, this role is designed for people who are comfortable working at locations outside their home area and who enjoy traveling to new sites as part of their regular schedule.
About Our BESS Operations
Clean Energy Services (CES) is an independent operations and maintenance (O&M) provider built to run complex, utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). We combine dedicated field crews with a 24/7 Remote Operations Center (ROC) and deep energy-storage operating expertise.
When a battery site is built, someone has to keep it running safely for the next twenty years. Our field technicians are the people who do that.
Our Expectations
Safety:
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. All employees are expected to actively participate in CES’s safety programs, speak up about safe/unsafe conditions, and always report incidents—no matter how minor. Every employee has both the right and the obligation to stop any work they believe is unsafe or unclear.
Professionalism & Client Interaction:
As a member of our field team, you are often the first point of contact with our clients. We expect professionalism, positivity, and strong representation of CES at all times. If you see opportunities to improve our work processes, we want you to raise them.
Teamwork & Work Ethic:
Project work requires attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and full participation from everyone on site. No one should remain idle when others are working. We expect employees to properly care for and maintain their equipment and to use downtime for maintenance or other improvement work.
What Employees Can Expect from CES
Job Description
The BESS Field Technician 1 is responsible for supporting the safe operation and maintenance of utility-scale battery energy storage systems, working under the direction of senior technicians and site leadership. The position is accountable for executing assigned preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, maintaining site conditions, and documenting all work performed to CES standards.
The technician performs all assigned work in accordance with CES safety procedures, OEM maintenance manuals, and applicable OSHA and NFPA requirements. Work is performed on and around energized medium- and high-voltage equipment, battery systems, power conversion systems, and balance-of-plant components.
This is a field-based position. The technician is assigned to a project site, travels between CES locations as required, participates in an on-call rotation, and responds to alarms and equipment faults dispatched by the CES Remote Operations Center, including outside of normal business hours.
The role reports to the site Lead Technician or Site Manager.
Safety Accountability
Battery storage sites carry medium- and high-voltage electrical hazards, stored chemical energy, and arc flash risk. Safety performance is a condition of employment in this role and is evaluated alongside technical performance.
