About the role

Concept Plus is seeking a Platform / DevSecOps Lead to deliver senior technical leadership for Air Force IT systems, overseeing platform architecture, DevSecOps strategy, and lifecycle management across development and operational environments to enable secure, automated, and high-performing system delivery.


This role requires knowledge and understanding of Air Force IT processes and technology stack (DevSecOps CI/CD, Cloud One, Oracle, Java). Air Force systems are deployed in classified and unclassified environments in DISA and Cloud.


The Platform / DevSecOps Lead provides thought leadership in modernizing and enhancing Air Force IT systems, serving as a primary technical interface with the customer and Program Management Office (PMO). This role drives the strategy and execution of platform and DevSecOps capabilities to enable secure, automated, and scalable system delivery.


What you'll do

  • Working as part of tightly knit Agile software teams to design and implement Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing GitLab or other CI/CD systems.
  • Supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) toolsets and maintaining multiple CI/CD environments.
  • Configuring CI/CD environments for application performance, security monitoring, and alerting;
  • Acting as a point person with the corporate IT organization to ensure that infrastructure toolsets are configured, maintained, reliable, and in compliance with Department of Defense standards
  • Experience with all relevant technologies including:
  • CI/CD tools (Gitlab) and pipeline automation
  • Cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and automated provisioning tools (such as Ansible, Chef, TerraForm)
  • Containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Kubernetes management solutions
  • Experience deploying, and monitoring Kubernetes clusters and pod configurations
  • Experience in:
    • Full web-service stack, including databases, logging, and monitoring
    • Project tracking tools such as Jira
    • Deploying and maintaining artifact repositories (such as Nexus, Artifactory)
    • Deploying and configuring static and dynamic code analysis tools (such as SonarQube, Coverity).
    • Leading teams in an Agile/SCRUM software development process
  • Automate infrastructure so environments are predictable and supportable
  • Support containerized platforms in secure, regulated environments
  • Lead software and cyber engineers to solve delivery problems
  • Provide solutions and technical guidance based on program needs, priorities, and technical requirements/constraints
  • Establish secure defaults, templates, and golden paths for developers (secure base images, hardened Helm charts, reusable pipelines)
  • Establish end-to-end software supply chain security
  • Mentor engineers on secure coding, deployment patterns, and best practices; contribute to documentation and internal standards.
  • Support audits, evidence collection, and continuous compliance posture reporting


Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8140 intermediate certification or DoD 8570 IAM Level II certifications or higher
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience depending on degree
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD in enterprise environments
  • Demonstrable experience leading technical teams and architecting solutions within an Agile and/or SAFe environment.
  • Experience leading or architecting the migration of large, complex systems (preferably Air Force systems) to a DoD-approved cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Oracle Cloud).
  • Familiarity with DoD/Air Force cybersecurity mandates (RMF, STIGs).
  • Strong background in secure DevSecOps practices, automated testing, and pipeline governance.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Agile development teams of 20+ FTEs and be familiar with Agile methodologies.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • While a master’s is preferred, relevant professional certifications could be listed as desirable.
  • Full stack software development (e.g., Java, Python, TypeScript, React, SQL)
  • Atlassian suite tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
