The Role

Crafty is seeking a Business Development Representative who will report directly to our Director of Business Development.

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in driving Crafty’s growth by identifying and qualifying new business opportunities and turning curiosity into real conversations. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this person will build a prospecting strategy rooted in smart research and thoughtful outreach, then stay consistent and resilient through the realities of outbound. You’ll keep a clean, reliable pipeline in our CRM, communicate clearly across channels, and learn quickly through feedback and coaching. Success in this role comes from pairing strong judgment and organization with a genuine ability to connect, listen, and persist—so we can create a steady flow of qualified opportunities for the team.

Required Attributes

  • Prospecting Strategy: Identify, research, and target potential clients in key industries aligned with Crafty's growth strategy. Use a variety of tools and methods, including LinkedIn, CRM databases, and outbound outreach campaigns, to connect with prospects.
  • Resilience: The ability to stay motivated, maintain a positive attitude, and persist through challenges or rejection, adapting to setbacks while continuing to work toward goals with determination.
  • Coachability: Being open to constructive criticism, implementing feedback from peers and leadership, and demonstrating continuous improvement in prospecting, communication, and sales techniques.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain an organized pipeline of leads in the CRM system. Collaborate with the Director of Business Development and Account Executives to ensure seamless handoffs and follow-ups.
  • Effective Communicator: The ability to clearly and persuasively convey information across various channels, actively listen to understand prospects' needs, tailor messaging to different audiences, and build rapport to establish trust and advance opportunities.

Ideal Experience

  • 1+ years of professional experience (preferably in a revenue function)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and goal-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Don’t meet all of the qualifications? We want you to consider all of your skills and experiences - both professional and personal- that would make you successful in this role. Although some qualifications are essential, others can be attained with time. We believe diverse perspectives, upbringings, and knowledge contribute to our strong company culture and we encourage you to apply.

Role Goals

  1. Pipeline Generation: By the end of each month, the BDR will meet outlined SQO and pipeline valuation metrics set out in the variable compensation plan to support revenue growth goals.
  2. Activity and Outreach: BDR will engage in outbound prospecting efforts in a multi-channel outreach setting, as measured by consistently hitting a schedule rate of 15% month-over-month, and to support overall pipeline acceleration.
  3. Conversion and Qualification: By the end of the year, BDRs will achieve an 85% conversion rate from booked meetings to qualified opportunities through strong communication skills and using data to refine outbound tactics.
  4. AI Fluency & Workflow Integration: Develop working proficiency with AI tools relevant to the revenue function. Identify at least one point of friction where AI can reduce manual effort and improve efficiency, implement the improvement, and share findings with the team by Q4 2026.
