Homestead, a Verndale Company

Implementer

Homestead Studio
Homestead is a retention-first marketing agency supporting some of the fastest-growing e-commerce brands. We move quickly, communicate clearly, and believe great strategy only matters if it's executed exceptionally well.

We don't believe in simply checking boxes or delivering what's asked. We go above and beyond for our clients, constantly looking for opportunities to improve performance, solve problems before they happen, and create meaningful business impact. We're outcome-focused, hold ourselves to a high standard of execution, and are always looking for better ways to work.

About the role

The Email and SMS Implementer builds and quality-assures email and SMS campaigns in Klaviyo for a portfolio of up to 12 brands. This role owns campaign build and QA, while the strategist team provides final approval.

The Implementer works with significant autonomy, independently prioritizes competing deadlines, solves complex Klaviyo issues, and communicates clearly about all assigned work. When a request is technically impossible or would create a fragile solution, the Implementer proactively recommends alternatives and pushes the issue to the strategist for resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Build email campaigns, SMS messages, and segmentation in Klaviyo.
  • Configure links, alt text, dynamic content, tracking, and related campaign details.
  • Complete full QA for assigned builds, including links, rendering, dynamic content, device checks, and scheduling readiness.
  • Troubleshoot Klaviyo event data issues, including locating and validating specific variables within events.
  • Diagnose and work through bugs in the Klaviyo flow builder and email builder without unnecessarily delaying delivery.
  • Independently prioritize competing deadlines across a portfolio of up to 12 brands.
  • Communicate proactively with strategists, managers, and other stakeholders about progress, risks, questions, and completed work.
  • Escalate issues that may immediately affect client revenue or prevent completion of a build.
  • Identify technically impossible or fragile requests, recommend practical alternatives, and push the issue to the strategist for resolution.
  • Maintain organized shared files, assets, and implementation work.
  • Follow established SOPs and suggest improvements to workflows, QA standards, and team efficiency.
  • Adapt to changes in Klaviyo and the broader technology stack as tools and capabilities evolve.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience working inside an email or SMS program.
  • Hands-on experience building and QAing campaigns in Klaviyo.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills are required for collaboration with peers, managers, strategists, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to execute quickly while maintaining accuracy.
  • Comfort with detailed, repetitive, process-driven work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues involving event data, variables, segmentation, flows, and email builders.
  • Ability to prioritize competing requests independently.
  • Organized, proactive, reliable, and consistent in meeting deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in structured workflows and using tools such as Asana and Slack.
  • Willingness to challenge technically impossible or fragile solutions and recommend better alternatives.
  • Curiosity and adaptability as platforms, systems, and technology continue to change.
  • Agency experience is a plus.

Note on Application Responses
We strongly encourage applicants to answer questions in their own words. While tools like ChatGPT can be helpful for organizing or polishing your thoughts, it is very easy to recognize when responses are copied and pasted without personalization. Candidates who use AI in that way are typically less successful in our process. Please treat your responses as an opportunity to show us how you think and communicate.
