POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for duties involving repairs and maintenance of structures, electrical systems, plumbing, washers and dryers,

heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in compliance with government and management directives.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or High School Equivalency. Technical training and general knowledge of maintenance/repair and

three years related experience. Experience working with youth and excellent written/verbal communication skills also

required. Unless waived by management, valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

JOB DUTIES:

• Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, air conditioning, and

drainage systems.

• Assist with various Center service and repair requests through the Center’s work order system.

• Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets, and fuses, as directed,

• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.

• Perform repair or replacement of windows, doors, locks, plumbing, fixtures, washers, and seals.

• Prepare surfaces for finishing and painting, as directed.

• Supervise and mentor students assigned to Facility Maintenance.

• Perform preventive maintenance checks of buildings and equipment.

• Perform routine scheduled checks of heating and air conditioning system.

• Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually lift, move pull, push, or carry material or objects.

• Occasionally requires reaching, bending, stooping, or standing.

• Operate in accordance with requirements set in the contract, PRH, guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and

corporate policies.

• Complete all required training according to Job Corps and Company training schedule.

• Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals.

• Contribute to cultivation of positive Center culture which is free of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and

disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.

• Promote youth development by treating students respectfully as adults and developing positive student

relationships.

• Promote development of Career Success Standards by modeling expected behaviors, mentoring students and

fellow staff to aid in their growth, and monitoring student behavior for accountability and recognition.

• Provide quality customer service to students, staff, and other Center customers.

• Participate in student employability programs and activities.

• Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.

• Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.

• Other duties as assigned.
